At exactly 10:00 a.m. on May 9, Moscow time (2:00 p.m. on the same day, Vietnam time), the parade commemorating the 80th anniversary of the victory over fascism in the Great Patriotic War began on Russia's Red Square.

According to a VNA reporter in Moscow, this year's parade has many special features. Firstly, 2025 is an even anniversary year - 80 years, so the parade is prepared very elaborately and grandly, and commemorative activities will take place throughout the year.

Second, according to statistics from TASS news agency, 27 heads of state and government leaders have confirmed their arrival in Moscow to attend the event, including General Secretary and President of China Xi Jinping; President of Venezuela Nicolas Maduro; President of Cuba Miguel Diaz-Canel; President of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic.

On the Vietnamese side, General Secretary To Lam led a high-ranking Vietnamese delegation to attend the ceremony to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the victory in the Great Patriotic War. This is an important part of General Secretary To Lam's official visit to the Russian Federation from May 8-11.

Another special point is that for the first time, the Vietnam People's Army sent a delegation of 86 soldiers and leaders to participate.

On Red Square on May 9, the Red Flag with the Yellow Star fluttered along with the flags of other participating countries such as Belarus, Kazakhstan, China, and the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) countries... creating special emotions among the Vietnamese community in Russia in particular and all Vietnamese people in general.

According to TASS, four high-ranking delegations, ambassadors from Israel and North Korea, and veterans from around the world, including the United States, will also attend and witness the parade. Military delegations and military cadets from 13 countries will march across the stage. A total of more than 10,000 people will attend this historic event.

Russian Defense Minister Andrei Belousov presided over this year's parade. The Victory Banner, a replica of the one that was flown over the German Reichstag on April 30, 1945, and the Russian flag appeared in the square to open the parade.

The first to appear across the stage were military equipment and infantry units. If weather conditions permit, the air force display is expected to close the parade with the sky dyed in the three colors of the Russian flag.

Traditionally, Russian President Vladimir Putin, who is also the Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, gives a speech welcoming the parade marking the 80th anniversary of the victory over fascism.

In the parade composition, great attention was paid to the young military cadets as well as members of the youth patriotic movement “Yunarmya.”

The movement of patriotic education and preserving historical memories among teenagers has received great attention in Russia in recent years.

The parade of weapons and military equipment always attracts great attention from the audience. It is expected that viewers will witness more than 130 units of military equipment.

Traditionally, the combat convoy is led by the legendary T-34 tank. It is followed by modernized T-90M and upgraded T-80BVM tanks, Typhoon-K armored vehicles, Yars strategic missiles and Iskander tactical missiles, air defense systems, as well as the latest equipment based on the Armata platform and other modern Russian weapons.

The parade also included the Giatsint-K and Malva self-propelled artillery units, as well as the Geran-2 and Lancet UAVs. This year, all eyes were on the most advanced weapon - the Oreshnik hypersonic missile.

This missile is considered the crystallization of many of Russia's future technologies.

The Victory Parade was broadcast live on outdoor digital screens. Not only images but also important information was displayed in real time.

Important information and commentary appear simultaneously on every digital screen, creating the effect of making the audience feel like they are directly involved in the event.

The live broadcast from Red Square was broadcast in many provinces and cities across Russia. The total number of viewers watching the live broadcast is expected to reach about 6 million, with the total number of views, including replays, reaching more than 41 million./.
