Study 3 years at Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology and receive an Australian university degree

For the first time, the transnational training model was jointly implemented in Vietnam by the University of Technology (Ho Chi Minh City National University) and the University of Technology Sydney (Australia).

Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (VNU-HCM) and the University of Technology, Sydney (UTS) have just launched an international bachelor of engineering joint program in two majors: artificial intelligence (AI) and information technology (IT).

According to Associate Professor Dr. Pham Tran Vu - Vice Principal of the University of Technology (Ho Chi Minh City National University), said: "The program operates according to the on-site study abroad model (3+0), meaning students will study directly for 3 years at the University of Technology according to the original training program from UTS, with a bachelor's degree granted by UTS".

According to Mr. Vu, as a top 100 university in the world , with IT and AI ranked in the top 3 in Australia and top 20-30 in the world, UTS is ready to share resources and experience with the University of Technology to create a breakthrough in training and research in this field in Vietnam.

With the presence of a world-leading university in this program in Vietnam, the two sides can realize the common goal of meeting the great demand for human resources in the context of digital transformation and focusing on investment in strategic industries such as AI and IT of the country.

Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Diep - Director of the transnational training program, Deputy Dean of the Faculty in charge of training and learning at UTS - said that the international engineering bachelor's degree joint program is a pioneering training joint model in Vietnam in the field of engineering technology - a field that requires large investments in facilities and equipment for teaching and research.

"Through discussions with the University of Technology, what UTS hopes to aim for is long-term cooperation of 10 - 20 years and longer," Mr. Diep affirmed.
