(HGO) - The Provincial Red Cross Society has just coordinated with the Vietnam Scholarship Foundation (VNSF) to award the VNSF Scholarship - Helping to go to school for the first semester, school year 2024 - 2025.
Attending the event were Ms. Do Thi Dao, Director of VNSF Scholarship Program in Vietnam, along with representatives of the Provincial Red Cross Society, Departmentof Education and Training, Provincial Association for Promotion of Education, representatives of a number of provincial departments, branches, local education and training departments, and schools.
In this scholarship round, 24 more students from Long My district were considered to receive scholarships.
In this scholarship round, 24 more students from Long My district were considered to receive scholarships, bringing the total number of 65 students from 4 localities: Vi Thanh city, Vi Thuy district, Chau Thanh A district and Long My district receiving scholarships from the program.
The cases eligible for scholarship support are those whose families are poor or near-poor and do not stop studying despite difficult circumstances.
Ms. Do Thi Dao, Director of VNSF Scholarship Program in Vietnam, presented gifts of encouragement to students with high scores in semester II, school year 2023 - 2024.
Mr. Vo Minh Tam, Chairman of the Provincial Association for Promotion of Education, presented gifts to the children.
VNSF has been accompanying Hau Giang students since 2004, first implemented in Vi Thanh city, then expanded to other localities as it is now. When selected, students will receive scholarships until they graduate from university, college, and secondary school. The scholarship level will change if tuition fees at all levels increase.
The highest scholarship is up to 22 million/school year for students studying in Ho Chi Minh City. If students study at other universities in the Mekong Delta region, they will receive 15.2 million VND/school year, college students will receive 12 million VND/school year, high school students will receive 3 million VND/school year, middle school students will receive 2.5 million VND/school year and primary school students will receive 2 million VND/school year. This amount will be divided into two awards in semester I and semester II each school year.
* At the program, recent high school graduates who passed the university entrance exams and students with high scores in the second semester of the 2023-2024 school year were given encouragement gifts by VNSF.
