University Tuition 2025: Which Schools Will Increase the Most?

Accordingly, tuition fees for standard training programs, block III (Business management and law): 785,000 VND/credit, equivalent to about 26.5 million VND/school year according to normal study progress.

Information Technology: 830,000 VND/credit, equivalent to about 28 million VND/school year according to normal study progress.

Humanities, Social and Behavioral Sciences: VND 800,000/credit, equivalent to about VND 27 million/school year according to normal study progress.

High-quality training programs: VND 1,113,000/credit, equivalent to about VND 40 million/school year according to normal study progress.

International bachelor's program (in association with CityU University, USA), with tuition fees during the study years in Vietnam from 50 - 230 million VND/year.

In the case of students studying their final year in the UK or the US, tuition fees will be based on the tuition fees of the partner school. Candidates with an English proficiency equivalent to IELTS 6.0 - 6.5 (depending on the requirements of each program) will enter the second year directly and tuition fees will be reduced by 50 million VND.

The University of Commerce plans to charge tuition fees of 24-27.9 million VND/year for standard training programs; 38.5 million VND/year for international professional orientation training programs (IPOP).

Meanwhile, tuition fees for international dual degree programs and advanced training programs range from 195 to 260 million VND per course. The school said that the annual tuition fee increase will not exceed 12.5% ​​compared to the previous year.

The University of Economics (Vietnam National University, Hanoi) announced the specific tuition fee for full-time domestic university students for the 2025-2026 academic year at 46 million VND/year (an increase of 2 million VND compared to last year), with a further increase of 2 million VND each year in the following years. For joint training programs with foreign countries, the tuition fee is about 362 - 370 million VND/course.

Hanoi Open University , expected tuition fees for the next school year range from 21.5 - 23 million VND/year.

Compared to last year, the above schools have increased tuition fees by about 1-4 million VND/school year for standard programs and 2-5 million VND/school year for high-quality programs. All schools comply with the roadmap for a maximum increase of 10-15% per year according to Decree 81 of the Government.

National Economics University , tuition fees for students enrolling in 2025-2026 are expected to be 18-25 million VND (standard program), an increase of 2-3 million VND compared to last year. Hanoi Open University and Vietnam Women's Academy have similar increases.

In the 2025-2026 school year, candidates entering the Dentistry major at Phenika University will face the highest increase, from 96 million VND last year to 128 million VND this year. In fact, the tuition fee for this major is still 160 million VND per year. However, last year, the school offered a 40% discount for new students, but this year it only offers a 20% discount, so the actual amount paid is higher.

The Academy of Finance has not announced this year's tuition fees. However, the school informed that the increase will not exceed 10% compared to the previous school year. Last year, the school's standard tuition fee was 25 million VND/school year. The tuition fee for the international certificate-oriented program was 50 million VND/school year. For students enrolled by order, the tuition fee is 43 million VND/school year.

For joint training programs, tuition fees range from 57 - 70 million VND/year if studying domestically; 490 million VND/year if studying abroad.

In Ho Chi Minh City, many schools have also announced new tuition fees for the 2025-2026 school year, increasing compared to last year.

Ho Chi Minh City Open University announced the expected tuition fee of 24 - 49.5 million VND/year, an increase of 1.5 - 2 million VND compared to last year.

Of which, the tuition fee for standard programs is 24-28.5 million VND/year, the highest being for majors in the technology and engineering groups. Most high-quality programs charge tuition fees of 46.5 million VND. In particular, the tuition fees for majors in computer science, construction engineering technology, management information systems, and information technology are up to 49.5 million VND.

At Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry and Trade , the expected tuition fee for the entire course (enrollment in 2025) for bachelor's programs is about 110 - 116 million VND, an increase of 3 - 5 million compared to last year. For engineering programs, the tuition fee is about 139 - 144 million VND.

Universities have many ways to calculate tuition fees, which can be by credit, academic year or entire course. Saigon University has the biggest increase, about 50% compared to last year. Tuition fees have changed dramatically due to the plan to be autonomous from next year.

The total tuition fee for the school's four-year majors is about 92-129 million VND, except for the two newly opened majors, which are nearly 79 million VND. Last year, the fee was about 65.8-70.1 million VND. The fee for four- and five-year majors is about 150-157 million VND, an increase of 20-63 million VND.

At Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics , tuition fees for the next academic year will increase by about 10%. Specifically, the price of each theoretical credit at Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics next year will be 1.1-1.3 million VND. Particularly, English and practical credits will cost 1.2-1.4 times this amount.

Ho Chi Minh City University of Social Sciences and Humanities announced that tuition fees for the 2025 course will be around VND16.65-72 million per year, an increase of 3-25% for standard programs. The highest increase rate belongs to Psychology, Journalism, Multimedia Communications, International Relations - from VND24.2 to VND29.8 million. The highest fee applies to foreign students in the Vietnamese Studies major, an increase of VND6 million.

Currently, public university tuition fees are based on a roadmap to ensure the cost of education and training services, according to Decree 81 of the Government. The State sets a tuition fee ceiling for each major and each school year, which schools cannot exceed. For programs that have been quality-accredited, universities are allowed to determine their own tuition fees.
