At the 2024 World Mathematics and Science Olympiad (WMSC 2024) recently held in Bogor, Indonesia, 4 students from classes 3B1 and 4B1 of the bilingual program of MAY Academy Primary and Secondary School (Hoang Mai, Hanoi) excellently brought home outstanding achievements, beyond expectations in their first participation in an international competition.
Four students from MAY Academy Primary and Secondary School made their mark in their first participation in an international competition.
Despite being the youngest representatives of the Vietnamese delegation of 34 students, they excellently won one bronze medal and two silver medals in the individual science competition at the Middle Primary level.
In particular, in the team competition, the students together won almost all the highest titles with two first prizes and one second prize.
Specifically, Le Nguyen Trang Thu (class 4B1) won Third Prize individually, Science - Middle Primary category; Do Bao An (class 3B1) Second Prize individually, Science - Middle Primary category; Nguyen Huy Nam Anh (class 4B1) Second Prize individually, Science - Middle Primary category.
In terms of team results, MAY Academy students won: First Prize in the Science - Middle Primary team category; Second Prize in the Puzzle Contest - Middle Primary team category; and First Prize in the Best Overall - Middle Primary team category.
The Vietnamese delegation won many high prizes at this year's International Mathematics and Science Olympiad.
These achievements not only affirm the students' outstanding abilities in the field of science, but also demonstrate the team spirit and teamwork skills of Vietnamese students in an international environment.
The image of four small members of the Vietnamese delegation receiving awards six times at the ceremony last night (November 3) left a deep impression on international friends.
Besides achieving success, the exam is also an opportunity for students to exchange and learn from international friends, improving their knowledge and life skills.
Beyond achievements, these are valuable lessons that help students become global citizens who respect differences and behave civilly. They will also motivate them to continue their passion for science and knowledge discovery in their future journeys.
