Vietnam Women's Union inspects and supervises the implementation of Project 8 at Tuyen Quang Provincial Women's Union.

In Tuyen Quang province, Project 8 is implemented by the Provincial Women's Union in coordination with departments, branches, sectors and localities. In Phase I, from 2021-2025, Project 8 will be implemented in 1,521 villages in communes of ethnic minorities. The Union focuses on 4 contents: Propaganda and mobilization activities to change "thinking and doing" to contribute to eliminating gender prejudices and stereotypes in families and communities, harmful cultural practices and some urgent social issues for women and children; building and replicating models of changing "thinking and doing" to enhance women's economic empowerment; promoting gender equality and solving urgent problems of women and children; ensuring the voice and substantive participation of women and children in socio-economic development activities of the community, monitoring and criticism; Support women to participate in leadership in the political system; equip knowledge about gender equality and skills to implement gender mainstreaming for officials in the political system, village elders, village chiefs, religious dignitaries and prestigious people in the community.

Implementing the Project, the Association has established and launched 1,521 community communication teams with 10,151 members; organized 11,615 propaganda and communication sessions to eliminate gender prejudices and stereotypes, build a safe living environment for women and children in extremely disadvantaged villages; organized 55 training conferences for 1,700 participants on supporting the application of science and technology 4.0 to enhance economic empowerment for livelihood groups and teams; supported 52 livelihood groups, cooperatives, and cooperatives owned/co-owned by women to apply technology 4.0 in production and connecting product consumption; established 225 "Leaders of Change" clubs with 5,758 members...

At the inspection, the representative of the Vietnam Women's Union acknowledged the results achieved in the implementation of Project 8 of the Provincial Women's Union in the past time. At the same time, the Provincial Women's Union was required to review and grasp the instructions of the Central Union. On that basis, supplement and complete the contents and programs of the project to effectively implement from the provincial to grassroots levels; actively mobilize and integrate Project 8 with other resources to effectively implement the national target program...

Also this morning (August 19), the Vietnam Women's Union in collaboration with the Provincial Women's Union and Unilever Vietnam International Company Limited organized a communication session to share knowledge about health care and nutritional balance for 250 female members of the wards: Minh Xuan, An Tuong, Nong Tien. At the communication session, members were shared knowledge about nutrition and scientific diets for each age group by experts. This was also an opportunity for women to directly discuss, ask questions and receive advice from experts on nutrition and health issues in daily life.
