Annual scientific conference of the Vietnam Urology - Nephrology Association and the Ho Chi Minh City Urology - Nephrology Association: Demonstration surgery on 7 cases of complicated kidney and urinary diseases

On August 21, at Khanh Hoa General Hospital, within the framework of the 19th Annual Scientific Conference of the Vietnam Urology and Nephrology Association and the 22nd Ho Chi Minh City Urology and Nephrology Association (taking place from August 21 to 23 in Khanh Hoa province), leading doctors and experts from the two professional associations, together with a team of local doctors, performed demonstration surgeries on 7 cases of complex diseases related to the urinary and kidney systems.

The surgeries were broadcast live from two operating rooms to the hospital auditorium. More than 300 doctors attending the program could observe closely, and at the same time ask questions, exchange and discuss directly with the surgeons. This time, the specialized techniques applied in the surgeries were modern, advanced methods in the world with minimal invasion, deployed for the first time at a provincial hospital, including: Mini-PCNL; flexible endoscope lithotripsy; laser enucleation of prostate fibroids (HoLEP); kidney-preserving tumor resection in cancer patients; combined endoscopic and percutaneous lithotripsy techniques.

The demonstration surgery program was broadcast live to the auditorium.

Through the program, local medical staff have the opportunity to access specialized treatment techniques in the kidney and urinary system; at the same time, the direct transfer of techniques from experts in the program contributes to improving the professional capacity of medical staff across the country. Thereby, aiming to shorten the gap in the quality of medical examination and treatment between levels.
