In the Cua Dai - Cu Lao Cham area, there are 88 tourist boats that meet the operating requirements, with capacities ranging from 12 to 79 seats, for a total capacity of 3,125 seats, serving the diverse needs of tourists.
In the first eight months of 2025, the number of inland waterway tourists is estimated to reach 898,660. The Cua Dai - Cu Lao Cham route alone is estimated to receive over 255,198 tourists (a 9.8% increase compared to the same period in 2024). This confirms the growing appeal of marine and inland waterway tourism.
However, waterway operations are often affected by many factors such as weather conditions, vessel technology, human resources, and operating procedures; requiring strict, coordinated management and serious compliance from businesses and crew members.

During the program, representatives from businesses, owners of tourist boats and ships, and crew members exchanged experiences and shared procedures for responding to incidents, rescue skills, and raising awareness of responsibility in the operation and management of vessels with representatives from the Da Nang Maritime Port Authority; the No. 4 Registration and Inspection Sub-Department; and the City Border Guard Command.
This contributes to ensuring absolute safety for tourists, while simultaneously enhancing the quality of service, reputation, and image of Da Nang as a destination in the eyes of friends and tourists both domestically and internationally.
This is the second awareness campaign in a series of thematic activities on security and safety of waterway tourism in Da Nang city, aimed at improving service quality and ensuring security and safety for tourists and crew members in waterway tourism activities.
