Accordingly, while on patrol duty in the area, the patrol team of Son Tra Border Guard Station spotted a young man carrying a cardboard box who appeared suspicious. The authorities immediately approached, requested an administrative check, and identified the suspect as HDNH (born in 2004, residing in Hai Van Ward, Da Nang City).
Upon opening and inspecting the cardboard box, the patrol team discovered 290 packs of ESSE cigarettes inside, which were identified as goods of foreign origin.
At the time of the inspection, HDNH failed to present invoices or documents proving the legal origin of the shipment. Recognizing that the case showed signs of trading and transporting prohibited goods, the task force drew up a report and brought the suspect and the seized goods to Son Tra Border Guard Station for further investigation and processing according to the law.
The Son Tra Border Guard Station further stated that the period leading up to Tet (Lunar New Year) is always a time when smuggling and illegal transportation of prohibited goods are more active, especially foreign cigarettes, e-cigarettes, and goods of unknown origin. Therefore, the unit has intensified patrols and controls, coordinating with local authorities and relevant forces to promptly detect and prevent violations from occurring early on.
Following this incident, the Son Tra Border Guard Station advises people to absolutely refrain from buying, selling, consuming, or assisting in the transportation of foreign cigarettes and e-cigarettes of unknown origin.
At the same time, citizens need to be more vigilant and promptly provide information to the authorities when they detect suspicious signs, contributing to maintaining security and order and ensuring peace in the coastal border area of the city.
