Promoting the development of green and smart transportation.

In recent years, along with the digital transformation process and sustainable development orientation, Thai Nguyen has recorded many strong advances in building a green and smart transportation system. Statistics at the end of 2025 show a comprehensive picture of the positive shift in the province's transportation sector, especially in expanding the use of clean, modern, and environmentally friendly vehicles.

Electric vehicle charging stations in Thai Nguyen are being expanded through a socialized approach, meeting the needs of green vehicle development and the goal of building smart transportation.

One of the most notable highlights is the rapid development of electric taxis. The province currently has 1,057 electric taxis in operation, accounting for nearly 70% of the total number of licensed taxis, placing it among the highest numbers nationwide.

This rate demonstrates the province's pioneering role in reducing emissions from transportation vehicles, and also reflects the proactive approach of transportation businesses in investing in vehicle modernization towards green, clean, and smart solutions.

The rise of electric taxis not only contributes to reducing air and noise pollution in urban areas, but also creates a more convenient and civilized passenger transportation experience.

Simultaneously, the province's transportation infrastructure continues to be strengthened and expanded, meeting the growing needs of socio-economic development.

Currently, the province has 2,086 transport units with more than 6,300 transport vehicles that have been issued valid permits. The inter-provincial and intra-provincial passenger transport network is maintained with 198 routes, of which 12 bus routes play a core role in connecting public transport.

In the freight transport sector, the estimated output for 2025 is 41 million tons, indicating a continued strong increase in demand for transportation services to industrial zones, economic zones, and commercial activities in the province.

A key highlight in 2025 is the province's comprehensive implementation of digital transformation solutions in the transportation and infrastructure sectors.

The Department of Construction has put into operation a vehicle control and non-stop toll collection system (ETC) at the Thai Nguyen Central Bus Station, helping to increase transparency in operations and reduce congestion during peak hours.

This is coupled with the widespread adoption of digital platforms such as e-ticket booking, electronic transport contracts, electronic invoices, software for managing vehicles, warehouses, consigned goods, and digital payment channels…

These tools not only help optimize transportation operations, saving time and costs for people and businesses, but also contribute to reducing fuel consumption, thereby indirectly cutting greenhouse gas emissions.

Evaluating the achievements, Comrade Pham Quang Anh, Director of the Department of Construction, affirmed that the construction sector has focused on promoting its core role in managing transportation infrastructure and driving digital transformation in transportation.

In reality, the synchronized application of digital technology has brought about significant changes in transparency, operational efficiency, and vehicle management.

According to Comrade Pham Quang Anh, in the coming time, the Department of Construction will continue to improve the shared database serving traffic management; invest in and upgrade the vehicle monitoring system towards a smart system; and encourage businesses to boldly innovate with clean energy vehicles. This is a direction consistent with the goal of green growth, ensuring the synchronous and modern development of the province's transportation system in the new phase. In addition, the Department will promote the socialization of investment in charging station infrastructure, ensuring it is consistent with smart city planning and the trend of electric vehicle development.

With the coordinated efforts of all levels and sectors, and the support of businesses, Thai Nguyen is gradually realizing its goal of building a greener, smarter, and safer transportation system, in line with the requirements of the sustainable development era.
