Conference delegates
Attending the conference were comrade Vu Duong Thuy Nga (Former Director of the Library Department); Nguyen Thanh Duc (Chief Specialist of the Library Department, Department of Grassroots Culture, Family and Library, Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism); Nguyen Huu Gioi (Chairman of the Vietnam Library Association); Nguyen Ngoc Anh (Deputy Director of the National Library of Vietnam); and delegates, leaders, former leaders of libraries of provinces and cities in the Mekong Delta Library Association.
Every year, on major holidays and prominent events of the locality and the country, libraries organize 362 thematic book exhibitions; set up thematic book columns, promote and introduce books on fanpages, library websites, radio and television stations to serve readers in and outside the province; organize many cultural and tourism week contests and the United Nations Vesak festival in 2025; online test on the history of "50 years of liberating the South, unifying the country"; activities "Studying and following the ideology, morality and style of Ho Chi Minh"; contests to promote and introduce books and cultural heritage associated with tourism; supplement information resources and serve readers; apply information technology in activities; build a grassroots reading movement; serve books with multimedia mobile library vehicles...
The key task of library work in 2025 - 2026 is to build a modern, integrated, sustainable library system in the Mekong Delta region, playing the role of a center of knowledge and community culture, contributing to improving people's knowledge, developing human resources and building a learning society; perfecting the library system according to the 2-level administrative model; organizing propaganda, display and exhibition activities to serve the Lunar New Year, major holidays in 2026, Book and Reading Culture Day in 2026, responding to Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day (April 21); World Book and Copyright Day (April 23) ...
