Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh: Urgently provide 200 billion VND and 100 tons of rice to Dien Bien province.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh agreed to provide emergency assistance of 200 billion VND and 100 tons of rice to Dien Bien province; he also requested the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front to allocate funds to support 80 houses swept away by floods, with 100 million VND for each house.

The Prime Minister visited Dien Bien , inquired about the well-being of the people, and directed efforts to overcome the severe consequences of the natural disaster.

On the evening of August 3rd, after inspecting the situation in several communes in Dien Bien province to visit the local people and discuss solutions to respond to and overcome the consequences of the recent natural disasters, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh chaired a meeting with leaders of Dien Bien province, central ministries and agencies, and the military and police forces.

During the meeting, the Prime Minister agreed to provide emergency assistance of 200 billion VND and 100 tons of rice to Dien Bien province; and also requested the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front to allocate funds to support 80 houses swept away by floods, with 100 million VND for each house.

The Prime Minister instructed the Ministry of National Defence and the Ministry of Public Security to coordinate closely and urgently implement procedures for remediation work.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh conveyed the heartfelt condolences, deepest sympathies, and encouragement of General Secretary To Lam and the Party and State leaders to the Party Committee, government, military, and people of Dien Bien province regarding the damage caused by the recent floods.

The Prime Minister commended Dien Bien province for its proactive efforts in mobilizing local forces to focus on overcoming the consequences of the floods. The Prime Minister emphasized that, in all situations, the safety of the people and workers must continue to be the top priority, and no risks should occur when restoring electricity in the flooded areas.

To support Dien Bien province in overcoming the consequences of natural disasters, at the meeting, the Ministry of Health presented 1 billion VND from the Vietnam Private Hospitals Association; Viettel Group announced a donation of 10 billion VND; VNPT Group announced a donation of 5 billion VND; and Vietnam Electricity Group (EVN) donated 1 billion VND.
