On October 1, the Son La Provincial Tax Department held a conference to commend organizations and individuals who have well implemented tax policies and laws in 2023; organized a dialogue with taxpayers and launched an emulation movement to fulfill obligations to the state budget in 2024.
In 2023, Son La Provincial Tax Department has implemented synchronous and comprehensive solutions on tax administrative reform; promoted propaganda to support taxpayers in a variety of forms and rich in content; maintained regular dialogue activities with businesses to exchange and remove difficulties and obstacles; improved the quality of support at the "one-stop" department, maintained many information channels to receive and resolve difficulties in implementing tax policies and procedures; improved spirit, attitude and service quality.
Implement the Government's tax and fee support policy for people and businesses; promptly guide cases eligible for reduction and extension according to the Government's regulations, specifically: Extend the deadline for tax and land rent payment in 2023 according to Decree No. 12/2023/ND-CP dated April 14, 2023 for 348 cases, amounting to VND 131 billion; reduce VAT due to reduction of 2% VAT rate on some items according to Decree No. 44/2023/ND-CP dated June 30, 2023 of the Government is VND 292.2 billion; reduce 50% of registration fee for domestically manufactured and assembled cars from July 1, 2023 according to Decree No. 41/ND-CP dated June 28, 2023 is VND 24.8 billion; 50% reduction of environmental protection tax according to Resolution No. 30/2022/UBTVQH15 dated December 30, 2022 of the National Assembly Standing Committee, amounting to 150 billion VND.
With the support of the Tax Department, enterprises in the province have actively and proactively rearranged production and business, saved costs, and contributed to the state budget. The amount of state budget payment made by state-owned enterprises of the central and local sectors during the year was 1,376 billion VND, accounting for 32% of the total state budget revenue structure. Most enterprises have had a good growth in output, revenue and production and business efficiency, and have complied well with tax laws and policies.
At the conference, the Son La Provincial Tax Department awarded certificates of merit from the General Department of Taxation to Son La Hydropower Company - a branch of Vietnam Electricity Group and 4 individuals; presented certificates of merit to 38 collectives and 38 individuals who fulfilled their tax obligations in 2023. Organized a dialogue with taxpayers to launch an emulation movement to fulfill their obligations to the state budget in 2024.
