Vietnam Writers Association revokes decision to transfer poet Luong Ngoc An

The Executive Committee of the Vietnam Writers Association revoked the decision to transfer poet Luong Ngoc An to the position of Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Writers and Life Magazine.

The Executive Committee of the Vietnam Writers' Association (VWA) has just sent a letter to its members regarding the mobilization of poet Luong Ngoc An - Member of the Executive Committee as Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Writers and Life Magazine.

In the letter, the Executive Committee informed that at the June 2024 Executive Committee meeting, poet Tran Dang Khoa, Vice President of the Vietnam Writers Association and Editor-in-Chief of Writers and Life Magazine, proposed adding a deputy editor-in-chief to the magazine and proposed poet Luong Ngoc An, currently working at the Vietnam Writers Association, for this position.

The Executive Committee asked poet Luong Ngoc An to explain some personal issues, discussed the magazine's operations, the need to add staff, and decided to transfer poet Luong Ngoc An to work at Writers and Life Magazine as Deputy Editor-in-Chief from November 28, 2024.

However, after reviewing some steps in the process and considering some conditions related to the transfer, the Executive Committee decided to withdraw this decision and report to the press command agency and the superior press management agency.

Previously, on December 5, 2024, poet Nguyen Quang Thieu - Chairman of the Vietnam Writers Association handed over the decision to transfer poet Luong Ngoc An to the position of Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Writers and Life Magazine.

In his speech at the decision-giving ceremony, Chairman Nguyen Quang Thieu emphasized that in his new role, poet Luong Ngoc An is expected to make strong contributions to promoting the development of Writers and Life Magazine, and at the same time, it is necessary to call for support and companionship from society to enhance the magazine's position.
