The South China Morning Post (SCMP) recently published an article introducing the six most beautiful highland villages in Asia. Mae Kampong (Thailand), Hundar (India), Ella (Sri Lanka), Hoang Linh (China) and Ta Van village (Vietnam) are all villages located on hillsides and mountainsides with spectacular views and the locals live off farming techniques that have existed for hundreds of years.
Among them, Ta Van is a small village located about 12km from the center of Sa Pa ward, Lao Cai, a famous tourist destination in the Northwest mountainous region.
Ta Van Village offers a peaceful getaway for travelers looking for mountain air.

Nestled in a lush green valley, the picturesque Ta Van village is home to the Giay and Hmong ethnic groups. Traditional stilt houses are scattered throughout the village. Surrounded by rolling mountains, terraced fields cling to the hillsides, changing color with the seasons. Trails lead visitors through a landscape that is both rural and mountainous, from rustling bamboo groves to cool waterfalls.
Visitors to Ta Van can stay at homestays, enjoy meals rich in local flavors and receive sincere hospitality from the locals.
SCMP compared that, unlike the bustling and commercialized Cat Cat village located nearby, Ta Van village offers a slow pace of life, ideal for those who want to avoid the crowds and immerse themselves in Vietnam's rich culture and landscape. To explore around the village and beyond, visitors can rent motorbikes and leisurely roam the roads.
