Tung Vai commune was merged from three communes: Tung Vai, Ta Van and Cao Ma Po. After the merger, the commune has a natural area of over 14,500 hectares, 2,378 households with over 11,000 people. As a border commune, Tung Vai has over 33 km of border, adjacent to Yunnan province (China) with 56 border markers. The poverty rate is still high, accounting for 46.63%.

Immediately after the reorganization, Tung Vai commune has consolidated the Party organization, government, and mass organizations; established 40 Party cells under the Party Committee; and assigned specific tasks to cadres and civil servants. Political and administrative activities have been operated smoothly and uninterruptedly, ensuring good service to the people. In particular, the commune's Public Administration Service Center has received and promptly processed administrative procedures to avoid congestion and interruption due to the merger.

At the meeting, discussions focused on the advantages and disadvantages in the operation of the commune government after the merger. Representatives of departments, branches and leaders of Tung Vai commune raised a number of difficulties such as: lack of working rooms, inadequate document storage, some cadres still confused when approaching new tasks, the shared software system is still lacking in synchronization... The commune also recommended that the province soon allocate resources to invest in infrastructure, provide guidance on the organization of Party cells and cadre work according to new regulations, ensuring that the commune apparatus operates stably and effectively.

Speaking at the meeting, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Le Thi Kim Dung acknowledged and commended the sense of responsibility, proactiveness and determination of the Party Committee, government and staff of Tung Vai commune in quickly stabilizing the organization and putting the apparatus into smooth operation after the merger.
He emphasized that Tung Vai is a border commune with a particularly important strategic position in terms of national defense and security. He suggested that the Party Committee and the commune government continue to promote the achieved results, focus on doing a good job of ideological work so that cadres and party members can work with peace of mind and agree with the new organizational model.
At the same time, proactively review and arrange personnel appropriately, focus on training and fostering to improve the quality of the team; promote the application of information technology, digital transformation in management and serving the people. The Party Committee and the communal government closely coordinate with the functional agencies of the province in reviewing and rearranging the staff, overcoming difficulties in headquarters and facilities.

The Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and the delegation visited and worked with officers and soldiers of Tung Vai Border Guard Station. Currently, the Border Guard Station manages 33.4km of border with 56 landmarks. Over the years, Tung Vai Border Guard Station has always performed well in its tasks of managing and protecting territorial sovereignty and national border security; actively participating in socio-economic development, helping people in border communes build new rural areas, and consolidating a solid people's border defense posture.
Comrade Le Thi Kim Dung acknowledged and commended the efforts and contributions of officers and soldiers of Tung Vai Border Guard Station in performing their duties during the past time.
He asked officers and soldiers of the Border Guard Station to continue promoting tradition, improving capacity, qualifications and political mettle for officers and soldiers to build a peaceful, friendly, stable and developing border.
