Deploying the model "Raising crossbred cows to support women in developing their livelihoods" in Tan Long commune

On the morning of December 3, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Women's Union (VWU) coordinated with the Provincial Women's Union to organize a conference to deploy the model "Raising crossbred cows to support women in developing their livelihoods" under Project 2: Diversifying livelihoods, the National Target Program on Sustainable Poverty Reduction in Tan Long commune.

Representatives of the Central Association and the Provincial Women's Union presented crossbred breeding cows to member households in Tan Long.

At the program, 30 poor and near-poor women's union households in Tan Long commune received 60 breeding crossbred cows. This is a source of practical support, helping women develop their family economy , create stable livelihoods, and gradually move towards sustainable poverty reduction. The program also includes training on breeding crossbred cow care techniques, handing over breeding cows, feed, elephant grass seeds and vaccines to women's union households.

Speaking at the conference, the representative of the Women's Union of Tan Long commune expressed his honor when the locality was selected by the Central Union, the Provincial Women's Union and the accompanying enterprise to deploy the model. The Women's Union of the commune committed to monitoring and accompanying households, ensuring that the model is operated according to the correct process; coordinating to organize technical training, monitoring the health of the cattle, providing guidance on care and disease prevention and treatment; and updating data and reporting progress as required by the superior Union. In addition, the Women's Union of the commune will increase household visits, exchange experiences, promote solidarity and mutual support in livestock farming; promptly advise the Party Committee and authorities when difficulties arise, ensuring that the model brings practical results.

The model of "Raising crossbred cows to support women in developing their livelihoods" in Tan Long commune is expected to become a bright spot in supporting women in developing their livelihoods, contributing to the goal of sustainable poverty reduction and socio-economic development of the locality.
