Da Nang: Urgently handle the "death hole" that appeared on Nguyen Cong Tru street

DNO - On the afternoon of December 3, a "death hole" more than 2 meters deep suddenly appeared on Nguyen Cong Tru Street (An Hai Ward, Da Nang City), causing a number of vehicles to fall into the hole, threatening safety in the area.

Initial information, at about 2:15 p.m. on December 3, a section of Nguyen Cong Tru Street near the Ngo Quyen - Nguyen Cong Tru intersection (An Hai Ward) suddenly collapsed, creating a "death hole" nearly 10 meters wide and 2 meters deep.

At the scene, two cars parked close to the curb of Nguyen Cong Tru Street fell into the hole, another car was perched on the edge of the hole and was in danger of falling into it at any moment. At least one injured person was taken to the emergency room.

The location of the "death hole" is close to the corrugated iron fence of a construction project in the area.

On the afternoon of December 3, the authorities quickly approached and blocked off the scene to ensure the safety of people and vehicles, and at the same time had a plan to move the vehicles that fell into the hole out of the subsidence area. According to the People's Committee of An Hai Ward, the incident did not cause any human casualties.

Mr. Nguyen Ha Nam , Director of the City Department of Construction, said that the unit has information about the incident and is checking and handling the scene, clarifying the cause of the subsidence.
