According to the Department of Construction of Da Nang City, at 2:10 p.m. on December 3, the area of Nguyen Cong Tru Street - the section from Ngo Quyen Street to Tran Hung Dao Street, collapsed, creating a 15m long, 6m wide hole. The collapsed location is adjacent to the Capital Square 3 Urban Area project, invested by SIH Real Estate Company Limited.
The incident caused the underground drainage system to break; two cars parked in the area fell into the sinkhole. The incident did not cause any human casualties.
Initial preliminary assessment shows that the Capital Square 3 Urban Area project is under underground construction, and the surrounding wall system of the project at the location adjacent to Nguyen Cong Tru Street is open.
"When it rains heavily, rainwater carries sand from the construction area near the exposed retaining wall into the construction, causing the foundation to collapse and the stormwater drain on Nguyen Cong Tru Street to break. Water from the drain erodes the soil, causing the roadbed and technical infrastructure in the area to collapse," informed the Department of Construction of Da Nang City.

Immediately after receiving the information, leaders of the City People's Committee, leaders of the Department of Construction, along with leaders of An Hai ward and other units, organized an inspection of the scene and requested the investor to immediately take measures to remedy the situation.
Currently, the investor and units have taken measures to isolate the dangerous area and implement temporary measures to ensure safety at the construction site and the area. At the same time, the organization has specifically assessed the cause, established measures, and organized to overcome the construction impact on neighboring constructions according to regulations.
