The outdoor exhibition space, inaugurated in 2010, recreates the activities of many ethnic communities, but after a long period of exploitation, some items have deteriorated. The recent flood caused waterlogging in the storage area for artifacts and documents, damaging part of the Museum's archives.

Every year, the Museum's professional staff conducts in-depth scientific research in the field of conservation and museum work, contributing to the preservation of a diverse and valuable system of artifacts. The Museum currently welcomes tens of thousands of visitors each year, including a large number of students participating in experiential education programs. Digital technology is increasingly applied in explanations, artifact management and operations, helping to improve service quality and create attractiveness for visitors.

At the meeting, the Provincial Party Secretary said that Thai Nguyen is implementing a plan to build a Provincial Museum on an area of 5.2 hectares with a total investment of about 700 billion VND. He asked the Museum of Vietnamese Ethnic Cultures to advise and support the province in terms of expertise, especially in the design, preservation of artifacts and development of exhibition content.

The Provincial Party Secretary assigned the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Management Board of Industrial and Civil Construction Projects of the province to closely coordinate with the Museum and proactively consult experts during the implementation process.

Emphasizing the role of museums in cultural life, Provincial Party Secretary Trinh Xuan Truong stated: In any locality, if you want to understand tradition, you must go to the museum. Along with the task of economic development, the province always attaches importance to culture and public spaces, in which museums are particularly important institutions. Building museums must be associated with attracting visitors and effectively promoting historical and cultural values.

He affirmed that, although it is a central unit located in the area, the Museum of Vietnamese Ethnic Cultures is always an important element in the cultural life of Thai Nguyen. The province hopes that the two sides will strengthen coordination in promoting the image of Thai Nguyen land and people, in management and operation. The Provincial Party Secretary proposed to build a coordination regulation to effectively exploit the potential, contributing to the cultural and tourism development of the province in the coming time.
