Scientific conference "Nghe An Provincial Delegation of National Assembly Deputies

Ms. Vo Thi Minh Sinh, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province, and Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation; Ms. Thai Thi An Chung, Deputy Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation; and Mr. Vuong Quang Minh, Principal of the Provincial Political School, chaired the workshop.

Attending the workshop were: Deputy Chair of the Economic and Finance Committee Nguyen Van Chi; Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council Nguyen Nam Dinh; National Assembly deputies from various periods; representatives of leaders from departments, agencies, scientists, researchers, etc.

A reliable bridge between the National Assembly and the voters and the people.

Eighty years ago, on January 6, 1946, the first general election in the history of the Vietnamese nation was successfully held, marking the birth of the National Assembly of Vietnam – the highest representative body of the people, the highest state power organ of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam. This historical event opened a fundamental turning point in the process of building a State of the people, by the people, and for the people.

In keeping with that historical trend, Nghe An – the homeland of the beloved President Ho Chi Minh – actively participated in the General Election and had the honor of electing outstanding individuals to represent the will and aspirations of the people in the National Assembly from its very first term. Throughout 15 terms of the National Assembly, the Nghe An Provincial Delegation of National Assembly Deputies has consistently upheld and promoted the tradition of patriotism, revolution, political acumen, intellect, and a high sense of responsibility to the Party and the people.

Throughout 80 years of accompanying the nation, generations of National Assembly deputies from Nghe An province have made many important contributions in various fields: participating in the drafting of the Constitution and laws; deciding on major national issues; exercising supreme oversight over the activities of the state apparatus; and serving as a reliable bridge between the National Assembly and voters and the people of the province.

Whether during the hardships of war or during the period of reform, integration, and development, the National Assembly deputies of Nghe An have always clearly demonstrated their political acumen, dedication, responsibility, and close connection with the realities of people's lives. Many opinions and recommendations from the National Assembly deputies of Nghe An have promptly reflected the pulse of life, stemming from local realities, contributing to the improvement of policies and laws, and resolving difficulties and obstacles in socio-economic development, protecting the legitimate rights and interests of the people.

At the seminar, the presentations and speeches focused on clarifying the historical context of the formation and development of the Nghe An Provincial Delegation of National Assembly Deputies within the 80-year history of the Vietnamese National Assembly; analyzing the outstanding contributions of generations of National Assembly Deputies from Nghe An in the fields of legislation, supervision, and decision-making on important national issues.

Many opinions emphasized the role of the National Assembly deputies from Nghe An province in fully and truthfully conveying the voices of voters, as well as the close coordination between the National Assembly delegation and the Party committee, government, Fatherland Front, and relevant agencies in carrying out political tasks in the locality.

The discussions also clarified the experiences, good models, and effective methods in the activities of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation; at the same time, they pointed out new requirements for the activities of National Assembly deputies in the context of building and perfecting the socialist rule of law state, promoting digital transformation, deep international integration, and rapid and sustainable national development.

The workshop is an important scientific forum, offering a multi-faceted, interdisciplinary approach, combining theoretical research with practical experience; thereby proposing solutions to further improve the quality and effectiveness of the Nghe An Provincial Delegation of National Assembly Deputies in the future, better meeting the requirements and expectations of voters and the people.

Affirming historical and practical value and guiding innovation.

Concluding the workshop, the Vice Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Nghe An province, and Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation, Vo Thi Minh Sinh, emphasized that from the presentations and discussions, the workshop clarified three core, overarching values. These are: the profound historical, political, and theoretical value of the Vietnamese National Assembly and the Nghe An Provincial National Assembly Delegation; the practical and developmental value clearly affirmed over 80 years of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation's companionship with the homeland and the country; and the value of orientation and innovation, opening up requirements and aspirations for development in the new period.

The comrade noted that, following the seminar, it is necessary to continue to thoroughly understand the guiding spirit of the General Secretary at the meeting with generations of National Assembly deputies: "The National Assembly must take a step ahead in terms of institutions; it must dare to pave the way, dare to correct the way, dare to decide on difficult issues, new matters, and areas without precedent." This is not only a strategic orientation for the activities of the National Assembly in general, but also a specific requirement for each National Assembly deputy in enhancing their courage, intellect, and responsibility to their homeland, country, and people.

Based on the results and orientations of the workshop, the Delegation of National Assembly Deputies of Nghe An province will continue to comprehensively implement the tasks of innovation, directly linked to legislative activities, supervision, and constituent contact; while preserving and promoting the traditional values of 80 years, and continuing to build the image of National Assembly Deputies of Nghe An province in the new era – the digital era: courageous, intelligent, honest, close to the people, understanding the people, and acting for the people, worthy of the trust of voters and the people.
