On July 31, the Institute for Circular Economy Development Research (Ho Chi Minh City National University) in collaboration with the Vinh Long Provincial Agricultural Extension Center, Ho Chi Minh City National University Branch in Ben Tre and partner units organized a scientific workshop on research and application of circular economy solutions for agricultural and fishery industry chains associated with socio-economic development in Ben Tre .

At the workshop, the project implementation team reported on the outstanding results achieved; assessed the current status and potential for applying circular economy to 6 key industry chains: shrimp-rice, beef, coconut, chicken, sea shrimp and mango. At the same time, reported on the results of piloting 6 practical circular economic models; assessed the potential for replicating the models; proposed groups of socio-economic solutions to replicate the circular economic model, connecting people, businesses, local authorities, etc.
Speaking at the workshop, Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Hong Quan - Director of the Institute for Circular Economy Development Research, project manager, said that circular economy is an inevitable trend of the world and also a major policy of the Party and State. The pioneering application of circular economy in Thanh Phu not only contributes to sustainable economic development but also creates positive changes in the environment and farmers' lives, creating a basis for replication in the coming time.
