After winning the 2024 ASEAN Cup with the national team, coach Kim Sang-sik continued to lead U23 Vietnam to the 2025 Southeast Asian U23 Championship. In both tournaments, Indonesian football became the victim, making the name Kim Sang-sik now a "new nightmare" for the media and fans of the archipelago.
