Operating in Vietnam since 1993, and starting sales since 1995, Acecook is not out of that flow. Over the past 30 years, the company has expanded its production scale and upgraded its modern factory system from North to South, meeting international standards ISO 22000, HACCP, BRCGS, IFS, transforming operations towards sustainability and environmental friendliness, from improving packaging, using biomass boilers to achieving international standards on environment and energy such as ISO 14001, ISO 50001.
Aspiring Start, Strong Growth
When Vietnam began to open up to foreign investment, Acecook Japan chose Ho Chi Minh City as its first destination in this potential emerging market. Officially present in Vietnam in 1993 under the joint venture model, Acecook soon established a completely different direction.
In July 1995, the first products were instant noodles Pho beef flavor, chicken flavor, and Mi Ga officially launched. The noodles simulated pho noodles, the rich broth true to Vietnamese taste helped the product quickly make its mark.
In the context of the new instant noodle market, Acecook has positioned its products according to high quality standards, convenient, safe, and suitable for Vietnamese tastes. This is the first proof of its long-term commitment to innovation and improving the culinary experience.
From the beginning, Acecook focused on controlling input materials and applying advanced production technologies, closely coordinating with the domestic supply chain to ensure food safety. This method of innovation from the root is a silent but lasting contribution to the long-term benefits of consumers and society. However, these strict quality requirements posed great challenges to the domestic supply chain at that time. However, instead of compromising, Acecook chose to accompany domestic suppliers to gradually help businesses master the process, control quality and modernize production - laying a solid foundation for the journey of sustainable development later.
The most important turning point was in 2000, when Hao Hao noodles were born. With its characteristic sour and spicy flavor, delicious chewy noodles and reasonable price, Hao Hao quickly won the trust of consumers and became a part of the lives of millions of Vietnamese people - from family meals to student dormitories or workers' lunches. By the end of 2024, more than 36 billion packs of Hao Hao noodles had been consumed, demonstrating the special attachment and trust of Vietnamese consumers for Acecook. Along with that was a strong expansion in production scale with 11 factories and 6 branches nationwide, meeting the increasingly diverse needs of the domestic market. Following that success, Acecook Vietnam has continuously expanded its portfolio with many other unique products such as Phu Huong vermicelli, Nhip Song noodles, Hang Nga noodles, De Nhat pho, Modern cup noodles... Each product is a new creation, a harmonious combination of advanced Japanese technology and Vietnamese flavors.
Not only does Acecook export its products to the domestic market, it also exports them to more than 40 countries around the world , including Japan, a notoriously demanding market. Products such as Oh! Ricey Pho and international Hao Hao noodles have contributed to spreading Vietnamese cuisine to the world in a unique and proud way. In 2008, by joining the World Instant Noodles Association (WINA), Acecook once again affirmed its long-term commitment to promoting the convenience food industry in a safe, transparent and responsible manner to the global community.
3 decades of constant innovation to stay close to the Vietnamese people
Acecook's 30-year journey is closely linked to the development of Vietnamese society through the 3HAPPY value, which is concretized through 3 happinesses: Happiness for customers, happiness for society and happiness for employees.
With happy customers, Acecook always focuses on providing high-quality products, nutritional supplements and meeting the diverse taste needs of users. Not only expanding the product portfolio, the company also researched and launched Phu Huong Vermicelli, Modern Cup Noodles, Hang Nga Vermicelli, and researched new products such as Kanli Soup Balls, Rang Rang Fried Rice Seasoning, to create a better, more convenient and healthier experience for consumers.
With happy employees, the company builds a friendly working environment, promoting engagement and personal development with more than 6,300 employees, where each employee feels respected and inspired. In the future, Acecook will comprehensively upgrade the management system, put people at the center, build training programs to develop an elite team of human resources. Acecook will create a positive, creative working environment with the spread of the spirits: Integrity - Cooperation - Autonomy and Responsibility - Excellence - Innovation for employees.
For that reason, the company has been honored in the "Top 100 best places to work in Vietnam" for many consecutive years and is one of the "10 businesses with happy human resources".
With a happy society, Acecook Vietnam proactively improves the standards of the instant noodle industry through technology transfer and domestic raw material development. Community activities are also implemented throughout, from disaster relief, volunteer programs, to scholarships to nurture the future, nutrition education, sports and music. Each activity is a deep gratitude to the country and community, which have nurtured the development of the business.
From a small office in a warehouse to a factory worth tens of millions of USD, from the first product to a portfolio of more than a hundred products in the convenience industry, Acecook Vietnam is entering a new journey with a future vision: to become a sustainable and world-class integrated food supplier.
Based on that orientation, the company's aspiration does not stop at 40.7% market share and 3.3 billion product packages sold in the domestic market in 2024 with a growth rate of 7% compared to the previous year, but also to reach out globally to bring Acecook products closer to international consumers.
Acecook also identified that sustainable development is an essential requirement in the new era. Environmental, social and governance factors are closely integrated into all operations. Currently, 54% of Acecook's factories use biomass fuel; the goal is to increase this rate to 80% by 2030. In addition, the company is also actively improving products to minimize environmental impact, with 90% of cup noodle, bowl and tray packaging now switching to environmentally friendly paper packaging.
In addition, many Acecook product lines have been supplemented with vitamin B12, calcium and fiber to meet the increasing demand for healthy living of consumers.
Mr. Kaneda Hiroki - General Director of Acecook Vietnam Company announced a new development strategy, marking a turning point of the enterprise on the occasion of its 30th anniversary.
"Innovation is not only for growth, but also to create long-term happiness for people and society. Through the "Cook Happiness Through Innovation" strategy, we affirm our commitment to contributing to building a sustainable, modern and globally competitive Vietnamese food industry, while bringing consumers better products every day - in terms of quality, emotions and responsibility to the environment and society." - General Director of Acecook Vietnam Company, Mr. Kaneda Hiroki emphasized.
