Seminar on STEM education development in Kien An district Education and Training sector, school year 2023 - 2024

(Haiphong.gov.vn) – On the afternoon of November 10, the Department of Education and Training of Kien An district organized a workshop on STEM education development in the Education and Training sector of Kien An district, school year 2023-2024.

Attending the workshop were Vice Chairman of the District People's Council Nguyen Thi Thuyen; Vice Chairman of the District People's Committee Nguyen Phong Doanh; representatives of leaders of departments under the City Department of Education and Training; Principals of Kindergartens, Primary Schools, and Secondary Schools in Kien An District.

At the workshop, delegates focused on discussing and exchanging issues such as: building STEM training courses in natural sciences according to the 2018 General Education Program; management and direction of STEM education at primary level; applying STEM in preschool education; effectively applying the learning game Quizziz. Representatives of VNPT Group also shared about digital transformation in smart education.

Also at the Workshop, students from kindergartens, primary schools, and secondary schools in Kien An district participated in experimental activities in natural sciences, social sciences, and science and technology. The Workshop took place over 1.5 days (from January 10 to January 11, 2024).

The workshop on developing STEM education in the education and training sector of Kien An district for the 2023-2024 school year aims to deploy STEM education in kindergartens, primary schools and secondary schools in Kien An district in both breadth and depth, combining the inclusion of STEM education in the curriculum as well as the organization of clubs.

To further promote teachers' creativity and promote STEM education, the District Department of Education and Training encourages teachers to integrate STEM activities into their lessons, considering this an innovative activity in teaching and learning towards comprehensive development of learners' abilities and qualities, taking students as the center, which is also an opportunity for teachers in schools to learn from each other and improve their expertise.

Students of all levels participate in experimental activities.

Through the Workshop, the Kien An district education sector implemented the correct direction of the Ministry of Education and Training to teach in a positive direction, innovate teaching methods towards developing students' qualities and abilities. Students were able to practice more, applying their learned knowledge to real life.
