Delegates attending the conference.
After the city conducted a survey, collected information on the graves, and clarified their identities to have a basis for requesting permission from higher levels to renovate, upgrade, and embellish the graves of veteran cadres resting at Thanh Son cemetery, Song Hien ward, from June 2023 to early 2024, the Cao Bang City Party Committee received a letter of inquiry from Ms. Lo Thi Niem and Mr. Lo Quang Tuyen, grandson of comrade Lo Quang Hoanh (alias Lo Quang Nam), born in 1911, died in 1969, former Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Administrative Committee of Lang Son province, former member of the Fatherland Front Committee of Cao Bang province and the family of Mr. Dam Van Thuong, son of comrade Dam Van Quynh (alias Bac Su), born in 1911, died in 1989, former Secretary of the Son La Provincial Party Committee, requesting consideration to promptly resolve the grave dispute between the two families. The City People's Committee has sent a reply to citizens, to determine the exact location, it is necessary to conduct DNA testing, confirm the burial objects and related information and documents.
Regarding the incident, in April 2024, the Provincial Party Secretary received citizens and worked directly with 2 families, assigning the task to the Cao Bang City Party Committee to lead and direct the resolution.
At the workshop, the delegates agreed that the current grave location belonged to comrade Dam Van Quynh. Comrade Lo Quang Hoanh's grave was also determined to have been buried in this area, but due to the long time it has been, the exact location has not yet been determined.
Concluding the workshop, Secretary of the City Party Committee Le Hai Hoa affirmed that doing a good job of repaying gratitude is the responsibility of the next generation towards the great contributions of the revolutionary veterans. Through the workshop, it was determined that the grave of comrade Dam Van Quynh was buried in 1989, so there are still images, witnesses and the funeral association all confirmed the correct location, so no excavation was carried out to determine DNA, hoping that comrade Lo Quang Hoanh's family would agree and comply, not making a complaint. In the coming time, the city will continue to accompany the family to search for and determine more information and documents, invite witnesses present at the time of burial to support and determine the exact location of comrade Lo Quang Hoanh's grave. It is requested that the City People's Committee urgently develop a plan to build, invest in renovating, upgrading and embellishing the grave of veteran cadres resting at Thanh Son cemetery to request the policy of the Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial People's Committee to organize the implementation.
