BHG - On the morning of October 28, the Provincial Union of Science and Technology Associations organized a consultation workshop on "Solutions for developing agricultural products with specific characteristics according to the value chain of Ha Giang province". Attending were leaders of a number of departments, branches, and sectors; People's Committees of districts and cities; representatives of a number of enterprises and cooperatives.

| Overview of the workshop |
The workshop reviewed some results after 3 years of implementing Resolution No. 17-NQ/TU dated October 10, 2021 of the Provincial Party Committee on developing high-quality agricultural products according to the value chain in the province for the period 2021-2025. Accordingly, our province has 199,497.1 hectares of agricultural land with favorable soil, water resources and climate, forming diverse production areas of agricultural products such as: Temperate fruit trees, Shan Tuyet tea, medicinal plants, high-quality specialty rice, raising Golden cows, raising black pigs, Mint honey, etc.
According to the statistical yearbook, the growth rate of the agriculture, forestry and fishery sector in 2023 increased by 3.27%. To date, the province has implemented 46 value chain production projects with the participation of enterprises and cooperatives; 270 products have been certified, including 229 3-star products, 39 4-star products and 2 5-star products at the national level. The OCOP program has created a positive signal, becoming a driving force for rural economic development, creating value chain products, contributing to increasing income, effectively serving the National Target Program on New Rural Development.
At the workshop, delegates focused on discussing and clarifying the following contents: Current status of implementing mechanisms, policies and documents related to developing agricultural products with specific characteristics according to the value chain of Ha Giang province; evaluating the results of developing 2 product value chains (Shan Tuyet tea, honey) and developing 6 new chains (temperate fruit trees; medicinal plants; high-quality specialty rice; Buckwheat; Golden cow; black pig; difficulties, shortcomings and limitations in developing value chains of product characteristics; solutions to promote the development of value chains for product characteristics...
Through the workshop, the aim is to strengthen coordination between sectors and localities to effectively and creatively implement policies to develop high-quality agricultural products according to the value chain in the province. Disseminate the benefits of exploiting and using geographical indications. Review and identify typical and strong products to advise on the implementation of research and application of science and technology to increase the value of goods; promote linkages in the production of typical agricultural products according to the value chain.
