According to statistics from the Ministry of Education and Training, in 2025, there will be 1,165 million candidates registering for the high school graduation exam, an increase of nearly 94,000 compared to 2024. Of which, nearly 98% of candidates will take the exam under the 2018 General Education Program; the remaining 2% will take the exam under the 2006 General Education Program.

The 2025 high school graduation exam will be held on June 25, 26, 27, and 28, 2025. Of which, June 25 is for exam registration procedures; June 26 and 27 is for exam organization; June 28 is reserved.

During the 2025 high school graduation exam registration process, candidates should note the following:

- Be present at the exam room on time to complete the procedures;

- Present your ID card/citizen ID card/passport and receive your exam card;

- If there is any error in personal information, it must be immediately reported to the supervisor or person on duty at the examination site for timely handling;

- In case of loss of ID card/citizen ID card/passport or other necessary documents, it must be immediately reported to the head of the examination site for consideration and handling.

On the official exam day, candidates should take special note that if they arrive more than 15 minutes late after the test start time signal, they will not be allowed to take that exam.

Nam Dinh:

In Nam Dinh, the 2025 high school graduation exam, the whole province has 23,625 candidates registered to take the exam. The Nam Dinh Department of Education and Training Examination Council organized at 39 examination sites with 1,007 examination rooms (38 examination sites for candidates registering to take the exam according to the 2018 General Education Program, 1 examination site for candidates registering to take the exam according to the 2006 General Education Program).

From 2025, candidates studying the 2018 General Education Program will take the high school graduation exam with 4 subjects: 2 compulsory subjects (Literature, Mathematics) and 2 elective subjects from grade 12 subjects (Foreign Language, History, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Geography, Economic & Legal Education, Information Technology, Technology). Candidates will take the exam in 3 sessions: 1 Literature session, 1 Math session, 1 session for 2 elective subjects. Literature is an essay test of 120 minutes (Reading comprehension 4 points, Writing 6 points); Math is a multiple-choice test of 90 minutes; the remaining subjects are multiple-choice for 50 minutes.

The exam schedule for candidates taking the exam with the current General Education Program (General Education Program 2018) is as follows:

Candidates taking the 2006 General Education Program will participate in 4 exam sessions, including 1 Literature exam session, 1 Math exam session, 1 optional Natural Science or Social Science exam session, and 1 Foreign Language exam session.

In the 2025 high school graduation exam, the Literature subject will still be an essay test, lasting 120 minutes. However, the exam has changed in terms of score distribution, specifically including 2 parts: Reading Comprehension (4 points) and Writing (6 points).

In previous years, the high school graduation exam for Literature was designed to include 2 parts: Reading comprehension (3 points) and Writing (7 points).

The remaining subjects will be multiple choice, with Math taking 90 minutes and the remaining subjects taking 50 minutes.

Instead of 50 questions as before, the Math test has been reduced to 22 questions, divided into 3 parts: Part 1 (12 questions), Part 2 (4 questions), Part 3 (6 questions). The number of questions in the other subjects' exams has also changed.

As announced by the Ministry of Education and Training, from 2025, for subjects with multiple choice test format, questions will be divided into 3 parts.

Part 1: Multiple choice test with 4 options, choose 1 correct answer, each correct answer gets 0.25 points.

Part 2: True/False questions include 4 points, 1 correct answer gets 0.1 point, 2 correct answers gets 0.25 points, 3 correct answers gets 0.5 points, all 4 correct answers gets 1 point.

Part 3: Short answer, candidates fill in the answer box; Math for each correct answer is 0.5 points, other subjects for each correct answer is 0.25 points.
