More than 18,000 Ha Tinh students intensify review for 10th grade entrance exam

This year’s 10th grade entrance exam is organized according to a new exam structure, requiring students to have a broad and diverse knowledge base, including both theory and practical application. Therefore, the heat of the exam is always a pressure for parents, students and schools.

This year's exam has many innovations, so teachers have carefully studied and organized many mock exams for students. Based on the results of the exams, the school has promptly adjusted the teaching plan appropriately."

According to Mr. Thuc, this year's 10th grade entrance exam has many adjustments in content. Math has comprehensive knowledge, especially new knowledge: probability math, visual geometry... While teachers also face challenges because of limited time for extra teaching and practice, for now, teachers have tried to make the most of class time to equip students with basic knowledge, while also assigning self-practice exercises and providing guidance on solving them at home.

The 10th grade entrance exam plays a very important role, being a turning point in the learning journey of students. Especially for schools in Ha Tinh city, the pressure of the exam is much greater, because the benchmark for admission to public schools in the city center is often very high. Meanwhile, the time for students to review knowledge at school is not as much as in previous years. Therefore, the goal of preparing good knowledge and skills for students to enter the exam has been implemented by subject teachers with many specific solutions to improve the quality of review.

Therefore, in the past time, in addition to following the industry's sample questions, we have also taught by topic, increasing students' vocabulary."

Along with the efforts of teachers, during this period, every 9th grade student tries to take advantage of the time to accumulate knowledge to prepare well for the upcoming important exam.

Student Duong Dang Bao Nam - class 9A, My Chau Secondary School (Thach Ha) said: "At this time, we have basically completed the main curriculum, so at school, teachers have increased the time to correct questions and systematize knowledge for students. We have also formed self-study groups to supplement each other's knowledge. In addition, I have also learned more knowledge on websites to accumulate for the Literature subject, because this year, the exam does not use materials in textbooks."

This year, the whole province has more than 18,000 grade 9 students. Although the number has decreased by more than 1,000 students compared to the previous school year, according to initial information from the Department of Education and Training, the enrollment rate for grade 10 is expected to decrease compared to before. Therefore, although students are allowed to register for a maximum of 3 wishes (1 more than last year), according to the general assessment, this decision does not reduce the pressure of exams for students, because in reality, the opportunity to be considered for the 2nd and 3rd wishes to enter schools is very difficult. Therefore, in addition to focusing on reviewing knowledge for students in this final stage, parents and schools must also carefully consider advising and choosing schools that are suitable for their abilities.

The 2024-2025 school year is the first year that the 10th grade entrance exam is organized according to the 2018 GeneralEducation Program. To facilitate schools and students, the Department has proactively announced the exam subjects, sample exam questions, and directed schools to review.
In the near future, the Department of Education and Training of Ha Tinh will organize a 9th grade student quality assessment exam in the form of a real exam for schools to evaluate the quality of education and adjust the review plan for students in the remaining time. This is also an opportunity for students to prepare knowledge, practice skills, psychology, test-taking methods, and prepare for the 10th grade high school entrance exam according to the 2018 general education program.
