Following the directive of Mr. Le Trong Yen, Standing Vice Chairman of the Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee, relevant departments, agencies, and localities are required to develop plans for the effective use of remaining funds for reforestation, ensuring compliance with legal regulations and suitability to the local situation.

At a meeting with the Department of Agriculture and Environment and related units on May 12th, the Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee announced that the legal regulations on reforestation have been amended and supplemented to be more flexible in their implementation. Review of land areas without forests

One of the key priorities set by the Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee is to review all non-forested land areas in the province. According to the 2025 forest status report, the province currently has approximately 189,000 hectares of non-forested land.

The review is required to be linked to improving the efficiency of forest land management and utilization, implementing sustainable forest management, and improving livelihoods for people in forest management units.

Simultaneously, the Department of Agriculture and Environment was tasked with researching and advising the Provincial People's Committee on the development of a comprehensive plan to increase forest cover and improve the efficiency of forest land management and utilization in the province.

The People's Committee of Lam Dong province is orienting the implementation of silvicultural measures in conjunction with encouraging people and economic sectors to participate in the management, protection, and development of forests using specialty tree species, multi-purpose trees, bamboo, and reeds.

At the same time, the locality is studying the application of contract-based management and cooperation models for forest protection and development to improve the economic efficiency of forests and enhance the livelihoods of the people.

To facilitate the field review, the Department of Agriculture and Environment was tasked with urgently establishing three working groups in three regions to inspect, compile data, and develop a synchronized implementation plan across the province.
