Over 262 million VND to support orphans through the 'Godmother' program

On June 6, Hai Chau District Women's Union summarized the work of the union and women's movement in the first 6 months of 2025.

Closely following the direction of the District Party Committee and City Association, all levels of the association effectively implemented emulation movements, focusing on propaganda work and mobilizing members to implement the Party's guidelines and the State's laws and policies.

The District Association organized 14 training courses with 1,520 officials and members participating, equipping them with skills to propagate domestic violence prevention and build happy families.

The “Godmother” program was supported by the association at all levels to 92 orphans with a total amount of more than 262 million VND. Through the Social Policy Bank, the association entrusted its members to borrow more than 41 billion VND for economic development.

On this occasion, the District Women's Union awarded support for the "Godmother" program in the second quarter of 2025 to 17 children, each receiving 1.5 million VND; and presented gifts to 61 orphaned children who overcame difficulties to study well in the 2024-2025 school year, each worth 300,000 VND.
