In this year's exam, in addition to Math and Literature, Biology is one of the subjects that candidates can choose. In the first year of exam reform under the 2018 General Education Program, the Biology exam was also adjusted with a completely new structure.

In 2024, nationwide, only 34 candidates scored 10 in Biology and 42 students scored 0.

The number of students scoring below 5 is nearly 46,000, accounting for over 13%.

Regarding the 2025 Biology exam, Mr. Dinh Duc Hien, Executive Director of FPT Bac Giang Inter-level High School, commented that the exam has a completely new structure. If the school and students do not prepare carefully, teaching and learning in the old way, focusing on knowledge transfer, will be difficult to meet.

The test is consistent with the goals of the 2018 General Education Program. In addition to a part assessing basic knowledge, it has shown an important step forward in assessing students' abilities, greatly limiting the practice of random circling.

The exam questions are highly differentiated, the application questions and data are not in the textbooks but from research and experiments, requiring students to have the ability to read, analyze, link, synthesize and compare data, based on basic knowledge to find the answer.

With this exam structure, it is not easy for students to get full marks. Students easily lose points in true-false and short answer test formats. Application questions also mainly fall into these two formats.

Mr. Hien predicted that the Biology score distribution in 2025 will change, reflecting more accurately the abilities and choices of students due to the change in the graduation exam. Universities can completely use these results for university admissions.
