In Hanoi, with over 124,000 candidates, the city has the highest number of high school graduation exam candidates nationwide, and has mobilized more than 16,000 officials and teachers to act as invigilators.
Recognizing the crucial importance of exam supervision in ensuring genuine exam results, the Hanoi Department of Education and Training has placed special emphasis on professional training for invigilators. At a meeting of all members of the examination centers held this morning, June 25th, in addition to reviewing preparations regarding facilities, security plans, and assigning tasks to various personnel, the centers dedicated a significant amount of time to studying the regulations.
Accordingly, all members at the examination site were thoroughly briefed on the invigilation guidelines, clarifying the duties and responsibilities of each member, especially the new aspects of the invigilation process.
One of the requirements emphasized to all invigilators is to fully comply with the examination procedures as stipulated in the regulations. Specifically, when the signal to begin the exam is given, invigilator number 1 compares the photo in the exam room list with the candidate and their identification documents for verification, and clearly writes down the candidate's full name and signs the exam papers and scratch paper; checks and reminds the candidate to fill in all the information completely.
The second invigilator is responsible for overall supervision. During the exam, one invigilator supervises from one end of the room to the other, while the other supervises in the opposite direction.
Invigilators are not allowed to stand near candidates, nor are they allowed to assist candidates in any way; they may only answer candidates' questions publicly in the examination room within the prescribed scope.
The two invigilators are responsible for safeguarding the exam papers throughout the examination period, ensuring that no papers are leaked out of the examination room. During the examination, if any unusual situations arise, especially those related to the rights of the candidates, the invigilators must report immediately to the head of the examination center for consideration and decision before taking any action.
After the 15-minute time limit for each subject has expired, the invigilator must count the number of leftover exam papers (if any), seal them, and keep them in the examination room until the end of the exam.
