Honda has officially introduced a brand new small electric car called N-ONE e: in its home market of Japan. This new 5-door electric hatchback Honda N-ONE e: 2026 will start accepting orders from August 1. Developed according to the “e:aily Partner” philosophy – roughly translated as “daily electric companion”, N-ONE e: is aimed at customers living in crowded urban areas, where compact, flexible and energy-efficient vehicles are increasingly necessary.
Compared to the concept version, the overall design of the Honda N-ONE e: commercial version does not have many differences. The car still retains a youthful, modern style with typical details such as front/rear LED lights, small-sized rims and a charging system that supports both AC and ChADEMO standards. The N-One e: is a boxy, high-roofed, flat-sided city car with a much more squared-off front end than its internal combustion-engined counterpart, and tiny wheels. Unlike the Super EV concept, the production version is designed to adhere to kei car rules, which govern everything from exterior dimensions to power output... The cabin of the N-ONE e: impresses with its simple yet comfortable layout. The centerpiece is a 9-inch touch screen, multimedia audio system, multi-function leather-wrapped two-spoke steering wheel,... The car has an automatic air conditioning cluster with a digital display screen, a Full LCD dashboard and an EPB electronic handbrake with an Auto Hold feature.
Honda also maintains the ULTRA SEAT design – a flexible seating system with 60:40 folding ability, completely flat backrest or upright folding to increase luggage space. The car has two USB Type A and Type C charging ports for peripheral devices. Powering the Honda N-ONE e: are two engine options. The first is the e:G version: equipped with an electric motor with a capacity of 53 horsepower, front-wheel drive, combined with a 29.6 kWh battery pack. The operating range according to the WLTC standard is 245 km and according to the NEDC standard is 290 km. The second is the e:L version: has 64 horsepower, front-wheel drive, uses a larger battery pack. Range reaches 270 km (WLTC) or 320 km (NEDC).
Both versions are equipped with the Honda SENSING safety package, including support features such as automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, lane keeping assist, adaptive cruise control and an ADAS camera system that enhances surrounding visibility. According to Honda's announcement, N-ONE e: buyers in the Japanese market will receive financial support from the government up to 574,000 Yen (equivalent to about 104 million VND). The car will be distributed with 5 color options, including: Cheerful Green (fresh green); Platinum White Pearl (pearl white); Lunar Silver Metallic (metallic silver), Fjord Mist Pearl (silver blue), Seabed Blue Pearl (deep sea blue).
