In a promotional image for the Honor 400 series that the Chinese company is expected to launch on May 22, Honor cleverly included a hidden message with the words "Not the same", in which the word "sam" is bolded in blue, clearly referring to Samsung.

This is not the first time Honor has "taunted" Samsung, as previously in January 2025, the brand criticized the Galaxy S25 Ultra for lacking innovation.
The Honor 400 is expected to compete directly with the Galaxy A56 in the mid-range smartphone segment, and the message "Not the same" may refer to the uniqueness of the new product, while criticizing the similarity in design of Galaxy A phone models from Samsung.
Can Honor 400 series beat Galaxy A56?
Despite being a smaller brand, Honor is showing confidence in its products. According to information from the introduction image, both the Honor 400 and Honor 400 Pro will be equipped with a 200 MP AI camera, superior to the 50 MP main camera on the Galaxy A56. The Honor 400 Pro may also be equipped with a dedicated telephoto camera, while the Galaxy A56 only has a 12 MP ultra-wide camera and a 5 MP macro camera.
Amidst the storm, Huawei still launched the Honor 20 Pro phone
Information about the Honor 400 is still limited, but promotional images show that the product will have unique AI (artificial intelligence) software and impressive water resistance. The release date of the Honor 400 and 400 Pro also comes a month after the Honor 400 Lite was launched.
While the Honor 400 Lite is considered a "solid phone with some compelling features," Honor will have to work hard to compete with the "impressive all-rounder" Galaxy A56.
