Press conference of the 4th National Congress of Ethnic Minorities

The congress is scheduled to take place on October 24 and 25 in Buon Ma Thuot city, with the theme: "Ethnic minorities of Dak Lak province unite, innovate, create, promote advantages, potentials, integrate and develop sustainably".

This is an important political event of the province, marking 5 years of implementing the Resolution of the 3rd Congress of Ethnic Minorities in Dak Lak Province in 2019. At the same time, the Congress is also a forum for ethnic people to exchange, create consensus and strengthen trust in the leadership of the Party and the management of the State.

The Congress was attended by 333 delegates, including 250 official delegates, representing more than 715,000 ethnic minorities of 49 ethnic groups currently living, studying and working in Dak Lak province.

Among them, there are 187 delegates elected from the district-level Congress; 45 delegates elected from departments, branches, sectors and organizations in the province; 18 ex-officio delegates and 83 invited delegates including: Central leaders, Ethnic Committee, leaders of the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province, the National Assembly delegation of the province, delegates of former leaders of the province and neighboring provinces.

The Congress will focus on summarizing and evaluating the achievements in the 2019-2024 period, drawing lessons, and setting goals and tasks for the 2024-2029 period. The main activities include: discussing and contributing opinions to the Political Report of the Congress, listening to reports from typical collectives and individuals, and approving the Resolution of the 4th Congress of Ethnic Minorities in Dak Lak Province.

The Congress promises to create an exciting, enthusiastic atmosphere and pride among the local ethnic people. Localities in the province such as districts, towns, and cities are also actively implementing propaganda work before, during and after the Congress to spread this message.

At the congress, 190 collectives and 334 individuals will be commended by the Chairmen of the People's Committees of districts, towns and cities; 15 collectives and 44 individuals will be commended by the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; 15 collectives and 30 individuals will be commended by the Head of the Provincial Ethnic Committee for their outstanding achievements in implementing ethnic work and ethnic policies in the period of 2019-2024.
