BHG - On the afternoon of November 9, the Provincial People's Committee held a meeting to listen to the Ha Giang City People's Committee report on the results of the pilot implementation of "Nguyen Trai Walking Street". Comrade Hoang Gia Long, Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee chaired the meeting. Also attending were leaders of a number of departments, branches, and the Ha Giang City People's Committee.

"Nguyen Trai Walking Street" came into operation from September 22, 2023 in the area from 26.3 Square to the Provincial Museum. After 6 weeks of pilot implementation, "Nguyen Trai Walking Street" has been put into operation in a disciplined manner; agencies, units, and the People's Committee of Nguyen Trai Ward actively and proactively coordinated to carry out assigned tasks. In 6 weeks, 192 folk art performances, 120 modern dance and ballroom dance performances, 120 street performances were organized, and a space for playing chess and Chinese chess was maintained; the mobile library displayed 14,000 books, and 2,165 readers participated in reading books for free. Schools coordinated to participate in performing cultural activities, arts, and folk games; the youth union organized many free experiential activities. There were 42 households providing services and food . Security and order, traffic flow were well implemented, environmental sanitation was ensured, cultural, artistic and experiential activities were diverse, people and tourists agreed and supported. In 6 weeks, it attracted over 13,000 people and tourists to visit and experience the walking street, including 2,130 visitors and experiences at the Provincial Museum.

At the meeting, delegates discussed some current difficulties such as: The products in the culinary area are not rich and diverse, the OCOP product display booths are monotonous, cultural, artistic and experiential activities are few; the arrangement of activity areas is not harmonious; the number of visitors has decreased compared to before; at the same time, many solutions were proposed to maintain the effective operation of the walking street, including: Strengthening propaganda and promotion in many forms; developing scenarios and content for cultural and artistic activities imbued with the cultural identity of the ethnic groups of Ha Giang; building more public restrooms; arranging and rearranging the space for organizing activities.
Concluding the meeting, Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Hoang Gia Long proposed: Ha Giang City should specifically evaluate the results of the activities of "Nguyen Trai Walking Street" compared to the initial goal of building a walking street; continue to maintain the walking street until the end of December 2023, then specifically, fully and objectively evaluate the effectiveness of the activities. During this time, it is necessary to adjust cultural, artistic and experiential activities, organizing spaces, and build suitable sanitary facilities; mobilize social participation in activities on the walking street; survey people's opinions on maintaining the walking street; continue to propagate and promote to a large number of tourists.
