On November 25, in Dien Bien province, the delegation of Dien Bien Provincial Border Guard (Vietnam) and the delegation of Mong Tu Border Guard (China) held the 4th regular meeting in 2025.
The delegation of Dien Bien Provincial Border Guard was led by Colonel Phan Van Hoa, Commander. The delegation of Mong Tu Area Border Guard was led by Colonel Dong Quan Long, Political Commissar.
The talks took place in an atmosphere of frankness, openness, friendship and mutual trust, reflecting the spirit of friendly cooperation between the two Parties, two States and two armed forces, including between the two Border Guard forces.
At the talks, both sides acknowledged and highly appreciated the results of cooperation achieved in the past time. Security and order in the border areas managed by both sides have always been maintained. The work of coordinating bilateral patrols, exchanging information, fighting against cross-border crimes, monitoring border works and friendly exchanges has been carried out seriously and effectively.
In particular, communication mechanisms (hotlines, correspondence) between grassroots units such as A Pa Chai and Sen Thuong Border Guard Stations and the Kim Binh Regional Meeting and Discussion Station have been effective.
Along with that, the two sides' coordination in consulting on the construction of the Vietnam-Laos-China intersection observation tower is not only meaningful in terms of border management, but also a symbol of regional cooperation and connectivity.
At the talks, the two sides agreed on the direction of cooperation in the coming time, focusing on continuing to thoroughly grasp and seriously implement legal documents on land borders and signed cooperation agreements.
The two sides will increase bilateral patrols, fight against cross-border crimes; coordinate in responding to non-traditional security challenges and natural disasters; step up propaganda and dissemination of laws to border residents; promote cultural, artistic and sports exchanges and maintain the "Friendship Village" and "Friendship Commune-Town" twinning models.
On this occasion, Colonel Phan Van Hoa sent wishes of health and success to all members of the Mong Tu Border Guard Delegation; expressed his belief that the friendly and cooperative relationship between the two forces will become increasingly strong, contributing to building a common border of peace , stability, cooperation and development.
The success of the talks once again affirmed the effectiveness of the two sides maintaining dialogue and cooperation channels based on respect for independence, sovereignty and joint management and protection of the common border, contributing to keeping peace for people in border areas, and making an important contribution to fostering the friendly neighborly relationship between Vietnam and China./.
