Speaking at the meeting, Vice Chairman of Quang Nam Provincial People's Committee - Tran Anh Tuan emphasized that the coordination and cooperation between the Vietnam - Laos Friendship Association of Quang Nam province and the Laos - Vietnam Friendship Association of Sekong province aims to maintain and promote the tradition of friendship and special solidarity between the two brotherly peoples of Vietnam and Laos in the past cause of national liberation, as well as in the peaceful cause of national construction today.
Thereby, further strengthening the special friendship and solidarity, cooperation and mutual assistance between the people's friendship organizations of the two provinces of Quang Nam - Sekong, contributing significantly to promoting socio-economic development, maintaining national defense and security, further strengthening the friendship between Vietnam - Laos in general and the two provinces of Quang Nam - Sekong in particular.
In addition, promoting the role of the association in people-to-people diplomacy of the two provinces of Quang Nam - Se Kong, in order to diversify friendship and cooperation activities for sustainable development. Therefore, the working program aims to evaluate the results of cooperation and sign cooperation contents in the coming time.
The report on the results of cooperation between the Vietnam - Laos Friendship Association of Quang Nam province and the Laos - Vietnam Friendship Association of Sekong province shows that, in recent times, in addition to coordinating many humanitarian trips to Sekong province to provide medical examination and treatment and medicine to nearly 10,900 people, Quang Nam has donated 2,515 gifts including necessities to disadvantaged households; supported 200 water purifiers, 20 solar lamps, along with many scholarships and computers for officials and disadvantaged students of Sekong province.
In addition, the Vietnam - Laos Friendship Association of Quang Nam province mobilized and coordinated with the Laos - Vietnam Friendship Association of Sekong province to support the Thoa Thoa Family Charity Group (Da Nang City) to organize a humanitarian charity program, giving 665 gifts to disadvantaged households in 11 villages of Ka Lum district (Sekong province) with a total value of more than 782 million VND.
The total value of the sponsorship for humanitarian trips is more than 7,287 billion VND. The Vietnam - Laos Friendship Association of Phu Ninh district and the district People's Committee supported Tha Teng district with 2 oxygen generators to serve the work of preventing and fighting the COVID-19 epidemic; supported school supplies for Huoi Sai Kindergarten; supported the construction of Tha Teng Primary School with a total cost of more than 4 billion VND...
Ms. Bun-hien Bun-chit - President of the Laos - Vietnam Friendship Association of Sekong province highly appreciated the connecting role and cooperation process between the two associations in the past time; at the same time, emphasizing that in the past time, Quang Nam has supported and helped Sekong province in many meaningful activities, creating momentum for socio-economic development of the province, especially the villages bordering Quang Nam.
"In recent times, the coordination between the two associations has become increasingly effective, close and in-depth with many special marks, helping to strengthen the traditional friendly cooperation between Sekong - Quang Nam provinces in particular and Laos - Vietnam in general," Ms. Bun-hien Bun-chit emphasized.
On this occasion, delegates of the two friendship associations exchanged, discussed and signed the Minutes of coordination between the Vietnam - Laos Friendship Association of Quang Nam province and the Laos - Vietnam Friendship Association of Sekong province for the period 2024 - 2029 with many important contents in the coordination and friendly cooperation between the two sides.

Up to now, the Vietnam - Laos Friendship Association of Quang Nam province has established 6 affiliated friendship branches, including: Vietnam - Laos Friendship Branch of Tran Quy Cap High School, Vietnam - Laos Friendship Branch of Kim Dong Secondary School (Hoi An City); Vietnam - Laos Friendship Branch of Quang Nam University, Quang Nam Medical College, Quang Nam College and Vietnam - Laos Friendship Branch of Phu Ninh district.
The Laos - Vietnam Friendship Association of Sekong province also established four branches in La Mam, Tha Teng, Dac Chung and Ka Lum districts.
