Cooperate with Saigon Co.op to develop new points of sale and consume Quang Tri products

This afternoon, March 5, the Department of Industry and Trade and the Ho Chi Minh City Union of Trading Cooperatives ( Saigon Co.op ) held a signing ceremony for a memorandum of understanding on cooperation in developing new points of sale and consuming goods of Quang Tri province. According to the memorandum of understanding on the cooperation program to research and develop new points of sale and consume the province's products, Saigon Co.op will survey, research and propose suitable retail models for key markets of Quang Tri province such as Dong Ha city, Quang Tri town, Vinh Linh district, Huong Hoa district and other qualified districts in the period from 2024 to 2030; creating favorable conditions for products introduced by the Department of Industry and Trade to connect and consume in the management system of Saigon Co.op.

Coordinate with the Department of Industry and Trade to deploy and implement cooperation to support transactions of food products in the safe food chain; provide requirements and technical standards of goods to the Department of Industry and Trade to guide and support businesses and production facilities in the province to bring goods into the distribution system of Saigon Co.op.

On the side of the Department of Industry and Trade, it will introduce and connect the province's products, especially OCOP products and typical products, to consumption in the management system of Saigon Co.op; coordinate with enterprises and production facilities in the province to provide detailed information on food products in the supply chain of products according to the requirements and technical standards of Saigon Co.op. Coordinate with Saigon Co.op to resolve difficulties and problems in the process of linking product consumption.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Ha Sy Dong affirmed that Quang Tri province always supports and accompanies the proposals of Saigon Co.op. At the same time, he requested Saigon Co.op to continue to pay attention to researching, surveying and proposing suitable retail models for the province's key markets; creating favorable conditions for OCOP products, typical products, and local specialties introduced by the Department of Industry and Trade, Department of Agriculture and Rural Development to connect and consume in the Saigon Co.op system.

The Department of Industry and Trade shall continue to preside over and coordinate with Saigon Co.op to support the introduction of the province's typical and OCOP products into consumption at the Dong Ha Co.op mart supermarket system in particular and the Saigon Co.op system in general; continue to support businesses in the province to build and develop brands, and perfect products to meet the supermarket's criteria.
