Novak Djokovic will face Casper Ruud in the men's singles final of the 2023 Roland Garros (French Open) tonight, June 11. The championship match promises to be exciting, between the world's most talented player, and the other side is a young player.

Djokovic's form has not been good since the beginning of 2023. The Serbian has not won any tournament in the ATP Master 1000 clay court system, and Djokovic was even eliminated quite quickly in one tournament. Nole's presence in the final was a big surprise.
In Paris, Djokovic showed no signs of being on the other side of the curve. The Serb has been playing better and better. In the semi-finals, Djokovic defeated world No. 1 and favorite Carlos Alcaraz, who many see as poised to succeed Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal and Djokovic himself in the next decade or more, to book his 34th Grand Slam final and seventh at the French Open.
The highly anticipated semi-final did not go as expected when the young Spaniard suffered cramps and could not resist in the third and fourth sets.
Djokovic's form is inconsistent, but the fact that he is once again in the final shows his superiority. Djokovic may have played poorly in other tournaments, but in Grand Slam tournaments, the Serbian always plays extremely well.
Fans will be eagerly waiting to see if Nole can become the first player to surpass 22 Grand Slam titles. If he overcomes Ruud in the final, the Serbian will temporarily surpass the “king of clay” Nadal to become the player with the most Grand Slam titles in history.
At the 2021 US Open, Nole lost in the final to Medvedev, when everyone thought he would be the first person to reach the 21st Grand Slam and win all the Grand Slams in 1 year. Learning from that sad experience, Djokovic did not put too much pressure on himself in this final.
For Casper Ruud, the timing couldn't have been more perfect, as the 24-year-old Norwegian produced his best performance of the season in a 3-0 (6-3, 6-4, 6-0) semi-final win over former world number two Zverev. It was his third title in the last five Grand Slams, having been stopped by Rafael Nadal (at Roland Garros) and Alcaraz (at the US Open) last year.

In the 2022 final, in his first Grand Slam final, Ruud won only 6 games in a heavy defeat to the "King of Clay". This year, the 24-year-old player has improved significantly in experience and class.
Ruud won his 10th ATP Tour title at Estoril in April and reached the semi-finals of the ATP Masters 1000 in Rome in May. In Paris this year, the Norwegian dropped just two sets en route to his third major final.
Ruud's form on clay is impressive. Since 2020, Ruud has won the most matches on clay (from the ATP Tour upwards), with 87. Djokovic, meanwhile, has only won 54 matches. With that form, the No. 4 seed is considered Djokovic's most formidable opponent.
In this tournament, Ruud is showing off his powerful and accurate forehands in his playing style. Meanwhile, Djokovic is still extremely effective with his excellent defense, but it is the diverse attacks that help the Serbian tennis player always have the advantage over his opponents in this year's tournament.
The match between two players of two generations, Djokovic and Ruud, promises to be extremely attractive and dramatic when the Serbian player really wants to reclaim the world No. 1 position from Alcaraz and become the first player in the Open Era to win at least 3 times at each Grand Slam. As for Casper Ruud, he is still trying to find the first Grand Slam of his career. Defeating a legend like Djokovic will be a great lesson for this young player.
Facing Djokovic in a five-setter will be one of the biggest tests of Ruud's career. The 36-year-old has won 20 consecutive Grand Slam matches.
The 2023 French Open men's singles final will take place at 8:00 p.m. on June 11.
