According to sources from Thanh Nien newspaper, Huawei's return to the Vietnamese smartphone market is in its final stages before the device hits the shelves. In recent years, the brand has focused on high-end smartphones, so the model that will soon be launched after a long absence will also fall into this segment; however, the specific model has not yet been revealed.
"The product is expected to be introduced to users in the first quarter of 2026," the source confirmed, adding that the official announcement could be made within the next two weeks. In the international market, Huawei sells many smartphone models with a full range of designs, from traditional bar-style phones to bi-folding (book-style) and triple-folding phones. The model being sold in Vietnam is confirmed to be "not a triple-folding model" (Mate XT series).

Huawei's return to the Vietnamese smartphone market promises a vibrant year for the domestic mobile sector, especially since Motorola – a brand that had previously left the market – also decided to return last year with a range of products covering various segments. Thus, besides Apple and Samsung dominating the high-end smartphone shelves, the competition has seen the full participation of many other manufacturers such as Oppo, Xiaomi, vivo, Honor, Motorola, and soon Huawei.
Prior to its re-entry into the mobile market, Huawei was doing well in Vietnam (specifically in the consumer electronics segment). Most notably, its smart wearable devices (including smartwatches and smart bracelets) had become among the most popular items on official retail shelves. The company also sold headphones and tablets, achieving considerable success in those areas.
Regarding user concerns about Huawei phones not having Google services available, sources indicate that, similar to devices released in international markets, the upcoming smartphone in Vietnam will run EMUI, a customized interface based on Android, allowing users to install Google apps and services with just a few taps. Meanwhile, phones for the domestic market (China) will run HarmonyOS, an operating system developed by Huawei itself.
