The Memorandum of Understanding was signed by Mr. Sun Fuyou - General Director of Huawei Group in charge of energy digitalization and Mr. Nguyen Anh Tuan, General Director of EVN with the goal of promoting strategic cooperation in the field of digital transformation of the electricity industry, contributing to realizing the goal of developing modern, efficient and sustainable energy infrastructure in Vietnam.

The MoU was signed in the context of Vietnam stepping up efforts to realize its commitment to achieve net zero emissions by 2050 – a target announced by Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh at COP26. In this process, the electricity sector plays a key role, both as an essential energy provider and as one of the pillars that need to be transformed to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, improve energy efficiency and enhance sustainability.
