Hue: Launching the first Grab Cyclo service in Vietnam

On August 15, the Department of Tourism , Department of Construction, Hue City Development Research Institute and Hue Monuments Conservation Center in collaboration with Grab Vietnam organized the launching ceremony of Grab Cyclo service. This is the first pilot model of this service to be operated nationwide.

Permanent Vice Chairman of Hue City People's Committee Nguyen Thanh Binh said that the city is always steadfast in its goal of building a "City of heritage, culture, ecology, landscape, environmental friendliness and intelligence."

Therefore, the locality always encourages and welcomes initiatives that contribute to preserving cultural values, promoting digital transformation and improving the quality of tourism services. Grab Vietnam's implementation of the Grab Cyclo service is a typical example, in line with the city's wishes.

The launch of Grab Cyclo service in Hue city aims to promote digital transformation in the fields of transportation and tourism; at the same time, support people to improve their digital skills.

This activity not only provides a convenient means of transportation for tourists and locals, but also contributes to preserving and promoting the traditional cultural values of Hue city - home to 8 heritages recognized by UNESCO as World Cultural Heritage.

Grab Xich Lo is a typical cyclo service of Hue. The vehicles are decorated with their own brand identity such as images of boats, Huong River, Truong Tien Bridge... The service quality is guaranteed to be consistent with other transportation services that Grab Vietnam is providing.

Passengers can book a cyclo to visit historical sites in Hue safely and conveniently and experience the service from experienced, well-trained drivers.

With Grab Cyclo, traditional cyclo drivers are introduced to digital platforms for the first time, participate in digital skills improvement programs, and keep up with technology and AI intelligence.

During the trial period, the Grab Cyclo service is applied to transport one passenger with an initial route of no more than 60 minutes and can be extended depending on the passenger's request.

Passengers can book a Grab Cyclo on the Grab app and be picked up or dropped off at 5 locations, including: The area opposite Hien Nhon gate, the area near Doan Thi Diem parking lot, the Nam Xuong waist parking lot, the Nam Thang waist parking lot and Toa Kham boat station.

After the trial period, Grab Vietnam continues to coordinate with local authorities to research and expand pick-up and drop-off points to provide more choices for passengers.

Tran Hoang Tuan, Market Development Director of Grab Vietnam, said that cyclo tours are suitable to experience the unique beauty of Hue city. This is the driving force behind Grab Vietnam to realize the Grab Cyclo idea.

Currently, Hue is the only locality operating this service with the desire to contribute more services to local tourism; at the same time, bring digital transformation livelihood opportunities to workers here.
