Faced with this reality, Hue will establish a team to handle issues related to the tourism environment; manage urban order, construction order and security and order in the ward/commune. This is a force expected to directly resolve pressing issues, contributing to building the image of a friendly and safe destination in the eyes of tourists.
According to Ms. Tran Thi Hoai Tram, Director of the Department of Tourism, Hue City aims to build a friendly and attractive tourism image, aiming to retain tourists longer and attract more returning visitors. To do that, ensuring a civilized and safe tourism environment is a key task. The development of the project "Improving the quality of tourism environment in Hue City by 2030" is an affirmation of the determination to solve problems that damage the tourism environment.
One of the leading solutions implemented is to establish an organization and unit to handle tourism environmental issues in Hue city (integrating the tasks of maintaining urban order, construction order and security and order) to carry out inspection, supervision and handling of tourism environmental issues in a regular, continuous, drastic and synchronous manner, in which the Steering Committee for improving the quality of tourism environment in Hue city is the leader.
The Steering Committee will direct, monitor, supervise, inspect, and promptly and properly handle issues related to the tourism environment in Hue City to protect the civilized, friendly, and safe image of Hue as a destination; contribute to the development of sustainable tourism associated with the protection of the environment, relics, and cultural values of Hue.
In each locality, the team handling issues related to the tourism environment at the commune level will directly perform the task of receiving and promptly handling issues related to the tourism environment in the area managed by the commune level.
In addition, this inspection and handling team also conducts propaganda, inspection, supervision and coordination in handling behaviors affecting the tourism environment; urban order, construction order in the locality. Coordinate with functional agencies in maintaining environmental sanitation, urban beauty, urban order, construction order; security and order at tourist destinations. Proactively propose measures to improve the effectiveness of tourism management and the environment, urban order, construction order in the locality. Timely report to the Steering Committee for ensuring the city's tourism environment on issues beyond its authority to resolve.
The special feature of this handling team model is that there are many participants, including: Local leaders, ward/commune police force, specialized departments, ward/commune urban order management team; head of residential group/village in ward/commune; civil defense group in ward/commune; management board of tourist attractions, relics (if any); representatives of cooperatives, management boards, people, tourism collaborators, and tourism service business households in the locality. According to the proposed plan, the standing body of the handling team is located at the People's Committee of the ward/commune. Members of the handling team work part-time and operate according to regulations issued by the head of the team.
In recent times, the tourism industry and local authorities have implemented many solutions, coordinating between departments, branches and grassroots levels to improve the tourism environment. However, behaviors that affect the quality of tourist experiences still exist. Ms. Duong Thi Cong Ly, Vice President of the Travel Association, Director of the Hue Branch of Vietnam - Hanoi Tourism Joint Stock Company, said that when tourism develops, arising problems also need to be resolved to bring satisfaction to tourists.
