Implementing a long-term strategy to build a smart and modern airport, Da Nang International Airport has officially launched a biometric check-in system, providing passengers with a seamless, fast, convenient, and safe flying experience.
At the boarding gate, passengers stand in their designated positions and look into the camera so the system can recognize them.
To use VNeID during the check-in process, passengers follow three steps. At the check-in step, passengers open the VNeID application on their personal phone, select Other Services → Airline Procedures → Online Check-in, and follow the on-screen instructions.
After completing online check-in, passengers proceed to the security check area. Passengers can also complete the check-in process and register their facial data at counters 05, 06, and 28.
Passengers arriving at the biometric security checkpoint (1 point at entrance 3 - Terminal 1) stand in the designated area marked with footprints, look directly into the camera screen for the system to perform facial recognition. After successful authentication and access to the gate, passengers proceed to the security screening area.
At the boarding gate, passengers follow a similar procedure: they stand in the designated position and look into the camera for identification. After successful verification, the gate opens automatically, and passengers board the aircraft without needing to interact with staff.
Da Nang International Airport advises that, to ensure a smooth check-in process using VNeID, passengers should update their VNeID electronic identification account to level 2 and ensure they are using the latest version of the application (this only applies to passengers aged 14 and above).
Download and update the latest mobile app of Vietnam Airlines or Vietjet Air to facilitate quick information verification. Carry valid identification documents (citizen identification card, passport, etc.) as a backup in case the biometric system experiences technical problems.
Da Nang International Airport stated that in the coming period, it will continue to cooperate closely with relevant units to expand the scope of application of biometric technology, while optimizing the system to meet the increasing travel needs of passengers. This will contribute to the national digital transformation journey in the aviation sector.
