Towards green production

Việt NamViệt Nam01/10/2024

In the context of increasingly deep globalization and facing environmental challenges and climate change, finding sustainable development solutions is no longer an option but a pressing requirement. Developing brands associated with green elements – using environmentally friendly materials and technologies, and ensuring environmental protection – is playing an increasingly important role in the development strategies of businesses.

Towards green production

Viet Tri Paper Joint Stock Company uses waste paper as a raw material for production, contributing to reducing the consumption of raw materials, fuel, and energy.

Following this trend, many businesses have seized this opportunity to strengthen their brands and improve business performance by building trust in their brands through commitments to social and environmental responsibility, placing consumer health at the heart of product development, and linking product development with sustainability commitments. This is also an opportunity for businesses to develop in a more sustainable direction, focusing more on community values.

Bambamboo Co., Ltd., located in Thanh Thuy district, produces over 100 different bamboo products such as trays, cups, straws, bathroom accessories, etc., some of which are popular and exported to many markets. Mr. Vu Anh Van, the company's director, said: “Bamboo products are quite familiar and environmentally friendly, contributing to changing people's mindset towards using materials that are safe for consumer health. Not only are they ordinary items, but the products also possess refined aesthetics and usefulness, so they can completely replace plastic products and disposable products that are difficult to decompose and harmful to the environment. The current trend is that businesses and production facilities using environmentally safe materials will increase brand value and strengthen consumer trust.”

Along with green materials, green energy, with its outstanding advantages in environmental protection and carbon emission reduction, is becoming a focus of sustainable development strategies globally. Green energy contributes to stimulating innovation in businesses as they seek new ways to optimize their processes, products, and services, while creating new markets and business models in a sustainable direction.

The intensified efforts in promoting and encouraging the development of rooftop solar power have attracted investment from businesses, individuals, and households in the province to install and utilize these systems. The entire province has developed 210 rooftop solar power systems with a total capacity of over 3,100kWp.

Vina Green Global Co., Ltd., located in Hop Hai - Kinh Ke Industrial Cluster, Lam Thao District, specializes in producing high-quality tarpaulin fabrics for export to European, American, and Australian markets, with an average output of over 800 tons per month. Mr. Ly Ngoc Cong, the company's director, stated: “Currently, many of our export markets have introduced standards and codes of conduct that emphasize environmental responsibility, including requirements for reducing greenhouse gas emissions, saving energy, and using clean energy sources. This forces businesses to adapt if they want to remain competitive in global value chains. Currently, our company is implementing rooftop solar power installations, which, once operational, will contribute to reducing energy costs and meet our partners' requirements for green energy use.”

Green production has promoted the development and use of new energy sources, renewable energy, and new raw materials, fuels, and materials to replace traditional resources. Along with government policies encouraging green production, businesses and producers themselves need to be determined to make a strong transformation, especially by raising awareness in environmental protection and climate change adaptation, making green production and business a strategic and competitive advantage.
