In the context of increasingly negative impacts from climate change, green tourism is an inevitable direction for the sustainable development of the global tourism industry as well as Vietnam. Lam Dong boasts diverse landscapes, close to nature, and many outstanding architectural works with unique characteristics. The tourism industry is inseparable from, but closely linked to, the conservation and promotion of the cultural identity of ethnic minorities, while restoring and developing traditional craft villages associated with tourism. In many localities, the main product lines are being oriented towards "green" tourism, combining experiences, exploiting unique cultural values ​​and rich and diverse natural resources.

Currently, several eco-friendly tourism areas have been established in the province, receiving awards for sustainable and environmentally friendly tourism. Simultaneously, hundreds of service establishments have been recognized as meeting green tourism criteria. "These accolades affirm Lam Dong's core orientation of developing green tourism, with the motto of not only protecting the environment and promoting the value of the ecosystem but also aiming for sustainable growth. The province focuses on building a development strategy and supporting businesses to invest in high-quality, safe, diverse, and sustainable tourism areas, destinations, and products," Mr. Nguyen Van Loc added.

Thanks to its beautiful natural landscapes, cool climate, and idyllic beach experiences, as well as opportunities for exploration, adventure, and wellness tourism, Lam Dong has become a top choice for many tourists. This has contributed to remarkable growth in both visitor numbers and revenue. Between 2021 and 2025, the province is estimated to welcome nearly 78.7 million visitors, including approximately 3.248 million international tourists (accounting for 4.13%). The average annual growth rate of tourist arrivals is projected at 24.44%.

Simultaneously, the province's tourism development orientation must be linked to urban development axes. Specifically, the central axis focuses on developing ecotourism, resort tourism, and high-quality conference and seminar tourism. The southeastern axis prioritizes beach resort tourism, water sports, conference and seminar tourism, health and wellness tourism (MICE & Wellness), along with agricultural tourism, forest-sea-sand dune ecotourism, and community tourism. Meanwhile, the western axis focuses on developing ecotourism, discovery tourism, and experiential tourism.
