The people of Cong village, Muong Lan commune, are pouring concrete for the village's internal roads.

In Cong village, it was the perfect time for the villagers to pour concrete for the village's internal road, creating a bustling and energetic atmosphere. People were mixing concrete, others transporting materials, demonstrating their determination to complete the road as soon as possible. Mr. Tong Van Quynh, Party Secretary and Village Head, shared: "The village road is over 200 meters long, but previously, it was very difficult for people to travel whenever it rained. Now, with the government's support of 120 million VND from the National Target Program for socio -economic development in ethnic minority and mountainous areas, the villagers are very excited. They contributed labor to level the ground, and five households donated over 600 square meters of garden land; households along the road also demolished their fences to widen the road to 3 meters, facilitating travel and goods transportation."

In Muong Lan village, the movement to build concrete roads in the fields has spread strongly, creating convenience for tending and harvesting crops. Mr. Lo Van Thuong, Party Secretary and Village Head, shared: The village mobilized the people to contribute money and labor to build the roads, with cadres and Party members setting an example by taking the lead, thereby creating high consensus among the people. Thanks to this democratic and transparent approach, the village has now completed more than 1.5 km of concrete roads in the fields and roads leading to the hills.

Roads damaged by natural disasters such as floods in 2025 are also being repaired and restored by the forces and people of Muong Lan commune. Vi Van Son, a militia member from Muong Lan village, said: "The militia in the village, along with other organizations, the commune police, and the Muong Lan Border Guard Post, have proactively leveled and repaired damaged road surfaces, cleared drainage ditches, removed trees obstructing visibility, and dealt with landslides, ensuring safe and convenient travel on these roads."

Recognizing rural transportation as a key factor in the foundation of socio-economic development and improving people's lives, the Party Committee and government of Muong Lan commune have intensified propaganda and mobilization efforts to encourage people to participate in the construction and improvement of roads. Through meetings and gatherings, women's association members, farmers' association members, and youth union members have actively promoted the "Joining Hands to Build New Rural Areas" movement to villages and individual households. The mass mobilization work has been implemented extensively, based on the principle of "The people know, the people discuss, the people do, the people inspect, the people supervise, and benefit," thereby creating high consensus among the people.

Mr. Lo Van Quan, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Muong Lan Commune, said: "The completion of rural transportation infrastructure has opened up many opportunities for people to develop production, connect trade, and improve their quality of life. That is also the reason why the people in the commune are enthusiastic and voluntarily participate in donating land, contributing materials, and labor to expand and pave the roads within and between villages, making them more spacious, clean, and beautiful, helping to transform the appearance of the rural area. From 2020 to the present, the commune has mobilized people to contribute money to buy construction materials worth over 800 million VND, more than 6,500 days of labor, donate over 1,600 m² of land, and over 100 trees of various kinds, to complete the concrete paving of more than 3.8 km and repair many inter-village and intra-village roads."

With the perspective of prioritizing transportation, Muong Lan commune continues to effectively mobilize resources and the collective efforts of the people to pave rural roads, making them clean and beautiful, contributing to changing the face of the countryside and accelerating the progress of building new rural areas in the locality.
