Plastic waste and styrofoam buoys collected in Ha Long Bay

According to the Ha Long Bay Management Board, there are no aquaculture areas using styrofoam buoys in this wonder sea area, but for about a week now, these "evil spirits" have drifted into the heritage protection area in very large numbers.

Faced with the above situation, the functional forces of Ha Long Bay Management Board have mobilized to collect tons of waste.

On March 24 alone, the Ha Long Bay Management Board mobilized over 20 ships, boats, and nearly 100 people to organize campaigns on all waterways and sightseeing routes on Ha Long Bay to collect and transport floating garbage on the surface of Ha Long Bay to shore for treatment according to regulations.

According to the plan, the campaign to collect waste at sea will be carried out by the Ha Long Bay Management Board for 3 consecutive days and will end on March 26.

According to the Ha Long Bay Management Board, in order to protect this natural wonder of the world , in recent years Quang Ninh province has had a policy of minimizing plastic waste in the bay.

Specifically, tourists are not allowed to bring plastic items to Ha Long Bay, and sightseeing boats also use glass bottles instead of traditional plastic bottles. In addition, aquaculture areas have been relocated to suitable locations. Floating rafts are also required to switch from foam to plastic.
